ATTN CUSTOMERS: This is a notice that we received from the PUD regarding service disruptions:
Last night was a very active night fire wise in the North part of the county west of Hwy 97 between South Pine Creek and Oroville. The fires caused widespread power outages in Oroville, Tonasket, Ellisford, Whitestone, Loomis, and Palmer Lake. The PUD suffered fire damage to several transmission poles on the Whitestone Substation tap and unfortunately our backbone fiber on that tap was burned through as well.
At this time, all OKPUD Broadband services fed from Whitestone Sub, including fiber and wireless along the Loomis Oroville Highway from Ellisford to Loomis to Palmer Lake, including Wannacut are offline. We are waiting for the green light from Operations to safely access the areas where fire damage has occurred to assess the damage and establish a restoration plan.
In addition to the areas affected by fire damage, the following sites are also offline which we believe to be power related:
Norton's Wireless
AP 30036 - Tonasket Airport
AP30032 - N Pine Creek,
AP30033 - S Aeneas Lake
AP24312 – East of Tonasket on Hwy 20
