Early Solid State fisher stuff from the mid 1960s. Some people love it but a lot of people hate it and think it sounds too harsh.

Personally, to my ears at least I actually like it! This stuff was first wave and these were being sold side by side with tube counterparts at the time. I'll be the first to admit that yes they were very fragile under the hood, they used germanium transistors instead of silicon ones, which were extremely vulnerable to heat and prone to failure, but they definitely had their own unique qualities.

1962 Fisher X-202C.

This one is just dumb luck.

Found this one upside down with case, no bottom panel and no tubes, buried at the bottom of a pile of junk in a hot humid storage unit in Cape Coral where it had been sitting for decades. It was so bad I almost left it behind, but it's a fairly rare model and I've never had one so I gave $2 for it just so I could say I had one lol.

Well, I get it home pop some tubes in it and throw it on the variac not expecting much of anything but a lot of smoke. Not only did it power up, but with absolutely ZERO issues!! No red plating, no funny smells, cans and iron staying nice and cool, dead quiet at idle and very brawny at full tilt. It's a perfect survivor piece! Go figure.. 🤣

So I really haven't said much about this one because I really didn't think it was going to work. 1 it's old Sylvania and everybody knows old Sylvania stuff loves to blow up even under normal use when in perfect condition, these things are absolute smoke boxes. 2 it's a flood pile find from the NSB Floods which was totally underwater for a few days. Well it dried out and the damn thing actually works. The case is absolutely destroyed and it was not in freshwater it was in brackish water so it has some salt exposure. Looks like hell but not only does it work but it actually sounds really freaking good and it gets damn loud! Matter of fact this is the biggest baddest Sylvania I've ever found.. lol
