Dent In The Universe is a 4-H FIRST Tech Challenge team. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a not-for-profit organization which designs accessible, motivational robotics programs combining Teamwork, Competition, Community Service, and Fun for young people ages 6-18. Our team name is based off of something Steve Jobs once said, “We’re here to put a dent in the universe. Otherwise why else even be here?” Team 5454 - dent in the universe, strives to live up to our name and the quote from which it was derived by doing what we can to make a "dent in the universe."

Just finished the Madhatters Block Party at Hagerty High School with a win! We came home as the winning alliance, along with our partners Robo GT. Big shout out to Think award winners Renaissance, as well as all our new friends who came out to the tournament! See you all on December 14th!

Just wanted to spread the word about our friends over at FTC Team #2845 Team Duct Tape. They've started a Kickstarter campaign to help them with some of next years expenses, and it'd be really helpful if you all could take a look!

We do a lot of things in the course of a season - brainstorm, CAD, program, build, rebuild, build some more, reprogram, provide community outreach, maintain our Engineering Notebook, help mentor other teams, and visit factories and businesses to see applied engineering in action. UPDATE (5/10): It is with heavy heart and regret that we inform you that police believe that they have identified the body of Riley Branstrom. For details, please see the article linked below. We would like to extend our deepest and most sincere sympathies to the Branstrom family, and to all of those who, like us, considered him a friend. Once again we thank everyone for their concern, thoughts, and prayers. He will be sorely missed.
