Never Forget.

Today, the DevPipeline team takes a moment to pause, reflect, and honor the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, along with the selfless heroes who risked everything to help others.

May we always remember the strength found in unity and keep the spirit of community and resilience alive every day.

Today’s Lunch & Learn was all about cloud hosting and deployment using Heroku!

We covered everything from configuring environment variables and to pushing live builds straight from Git. Understanding how to deploy efficiently gives our developers the confidence to ship projects faster and handle real-world deployment challenges head-on.

Great job to everyone who tuned in and asked awesome questions!

Huge congratulations to our newest DevPipeline graduates!

Crossing the finish line on these technical tracks takes serious dedication, late-night debugging, and a relentless growth mindset. We’re thrilled to celebrate the folks who just leveled up their skill sets:

Foundations Graduates:
McKenzie Kuehl, José Soto, Jason Luna, Adam Rash

You’ve built the bedrock! Mastering core programming logic with Python and diving into the basics of SQL to query data with confidence. Welcome to the Dev Shop and to the Front-End class!

Front-End Graduates:
Mina Hormati, Rhoy Oviedo

Bringing designs to life! From responsive layouts with HTML, CSS, and SCSS to building dynamic, interactive web apps using modern JavaScript and React. Welcome to the Back-End class!

Back-End Graduates:
Eli Hevelone, Kaden Hull

Powering applications behind the scenes! Architecture built on SQL and PostgreSQL, data serialization with Marshmallow, and securing systems with robust authentication. Congratulations on completing all of the classes!

Completing these tracks is a massive milestone. We are so proud of the grit and curiosity you brought every single day. Keep building, keep learning, and celebrate this huge win!

Drop some congratulations in the comments below!

"You can teach someone skills, but you can't teach someone hustle."

That's a line from Tyler Moline's high school football coach, and it's stuck with him ever since:

"If two players come to me, one has all the skill, the other doesn't have the skill but has hustle, I'll take the one with hustle every time."

Tyler came to DevPipeline from construction, not a computer science degree. What got him through the apprenticeship wasn't raw talent. What got him through wasn't skill. It was hustle, being scrappy!

"I'm down in the trenches. Even if I don't know exactly how I'm going to get to where I'm going, I am going. I'm gonna get there somehow."

Turns out, that word didn't start with Tyler. It's a value our founder Jason has always pushed. Tyler made it his own.

His advice to the next cohort walking through our doors?

"Embrace the fear and fail... get out there. Lean into the hustle. Be scrappy. Give it everything you've got."

It's better to try everything than to try nothing at all.

That's scrappy. That's DevPipeline.

Success is built in the daily ex*****on. 💪✨

No secret formulas, no overnight shortcuts. Real progress comes down to showing up prepared, putting in the effort, and treating every mistake as a lesson learned.

Step into this week ready to put in the work and keep growing. Happy Monday! 🚀

From smooth UI mechanics to strategic client discovery. 🧠💻

Today’s Lunch & Learn packed two powerful topics into one session, highlighting both the technical and strategic sides of building great software:

Drag-and-Drop with dnd kit: A deep dive into modern React drag-and-drop mechanics, exploring how to build smooth, accessible, and performant UI interactions.

Asking the Right Questions: A masterclass on client discovery—focusing on the essential questions developers need to ask upfront to turn vague ideas into precise, actionable application specs.

Great software takes sharp code and clear communication. Big thanks to today’s presenters for sharing their insights! 🚀

Write code for the database, not just the code runner. 📊

Happy ! As applications scale, slow database queries become one of the biggest bottlenecks in user experience.

We are focusing on how to keep your data layer lightning-fast. A few quick rules of thumb when working with SQL & PostgreSQL:

🔹 Index Smartly: Index columns used frequently in WHERE, JOIN, and ORDER BY clauses—but avoid over-indexing tables with heavy write operations.
🔹 Fetch Only What You Need: Swap out SELECT * for explicit column names to reduce payload size and memory load.
🔹 Analyze Your Ex*****on: Use EXPLAIN ANALYZE to see exactly where PostgreSQL is spending time executing your query.

Clean backends make fast frontends! 💡

Mondays set the tone for your whole week. 🎯

It's easy to view Monday as just another obstacle to get through. But what if you treated it as a weekly reset button instead?

Whether you're diving into a new sprint, learning a challenging framework, or tackling complex problem-solving, bringing intentional passion and commitment changes everything. Progress doesn't happen by accident—it happens when you decide to take ownership of your growth one week at a time.

What is one goal you're choosing to focus on this week? 👇
