POSITION SUMMARY: Technician Level I is an entry level position that requires a technical or mechanical aptitude and/or experience and a capacity to learn through on-the-job and vendor instruction.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) Assists the Crew Leader and Technician II on the successful completion of assigned projects; 2) Assists with maintenance and care of the van/job inventories; 3) Installs cabling and associated infrastructure; 4) Cable terminations, pulling, and testing; 5) Learns to effectively utilize work scheduling to maximize crew efficiency; 6) Adds efficiency and speed to work habits; and 7) Learns the many facets involved in current installation procedures.

Our technicians install, terminate and test fiber optic, twisted pair copper, and coaxial cables, and are certified by Ortronics, AMP Inc., Lucent Technologies, International Connectors and Cable Corporation (ICC), Leviton, Belden and Hubbell. In addition to standard cabling, PENNET, Inc. has designed and installed network concentrators and network software, multi-pair station telephone systems, security systems, wireless and cable television systems. Working with partners like Cisco, Lucent, Nortel and Cabletron, PENNET, Inc. provides a one-stop resource for WAN, LAN and wireless solutions, VPN's, firewalls, network security and a wide range of migration and support services.

Pennsylvania Networks has installed, tested and certified Cat5e and Cat6 premise wiring, backbone tie cables and fiber optic links on all projects listed on attached sheet. Our technicians are certified installers of Hubbell, Leviton, Ortronics and AMP communication products. Our installations meet manufacturer’s specifications and we offer extended manufacturer warranties such as the Hubbell 25-year Mission Critical Warranty and System Performance Guarantee.

We use only quality components and adhere to the TIA/EIA-568-B specification on all installations. We provide test results on all installations using new Fluke cable analyzers on copper connections and Siecor Optical Time Domain Reflectometers on Single Mode and Multi-Mode fiber optic cabling.

Network Design:
Penn Net provides standards compliant growth oriented, bandwidth capable, network design services for a broad spectrum of clients - from simple Ethernet LAN's to SONET backbones, and wireless services. Penn Net is a BICSI member and a certified Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).

Communications Electronics:
Penn Net is a value added reseller and integrator for a wide variety of network electronics, servers and firewalls.

Cable Plant:
Penn Net provides a full service design, installation, construction, management, testing and logistics management capability for data & telecommunications cable plant construction. For any environment; office, enterprise, campus, and outside plant.
