I started ELH Designs in 2011 as a student attending Cal State Fullerton. When being faced with other students at CSUF, I was quickly humbled by the overwhelming talent and the staggering amount of students graduating in Graphic Design, making nearly 2/3 of the graduating class. At a time, I was told that I should retake classes because my graphic abilities weren’t that of the other students. During the recession it was not an option to retake classes, tuition was high, I was a full time student and a full time employee…it was just not an option. I knew if I was going to make it in this industry I would have to grow thicker skin, study the latest trends, develop a niche and start learning from those already doing.
I have worked in many industries as a designer. Studying the dynamics of automotive, apparel, to food and beverage and more. This industry has grown into an animal with the creation of Ai. If you blink too long you’re all of sudden behind the rest.
After watching, learning, and at more times than not building a family aside, I have created a foundation, a career, a path, and most importantly a purpose. On June 2026 ELH Design, Inc (ELH Designs) entered its 15th year. I opened this business as an entry level graphic designer and have developed a foundation as a creative director, opening possibilities in graphic, web, marketing and social media.
While I do not limit myself to a specific industry, ELH Designs will always remain a strong support to those in the mental health sector, using my abilities to help strengthen, bridge the gap and spread awareness of su***de prevention, mental health limitations and disorders. Spreading this awareness will never stop for me.
I appreciate and thank those who have been with me from the start, for the ones who met me in the middle of my journey and the ones who will be part of my future. I can’t wait for the next 15 years.
Sincerely,
Erin L. Hamanaka
