Electronic Recycling Services
According to United States Government estimates, over 40 million personal computers will become obsolete this year. Other discarded equipment including computers, monitors, printers, servers and electronic components have overburdened our landfills and stretched our limited natural resources. OC Management was founded in the belief that there is a cost effective, environmentally responsible solution to this problem. We have developed a process for recycling obsolete or surplus electronic equipment that reuse, refurbish, recover and recycle virtually all materials creating a surprisingly low cost solution for our customers. In addition, we will administer a data destruction plan tailored to your specific needs with a letter of destruction upon request. Disposal Options:
Donate: This can be a good option if you are certain that your equipment meets the needs of the receiving organization. Often we get calls form non-profit organizations asking us to dispose of equipment they received but cannot use because it’s obsolete or doesn’t work. A donor who is trying to do the right thing can then inadvertently transfer the disposal cost to the organization he/she is trying to help. Should you choose to donate, be sure your hard drive is removed, destroyed or cleansed for your protection. Be aware of the implications of leaving proprietary software and operating systems on your system. The bottom line: Contact the organization to discuss their specific needs. OC Management can work with you to determine the value of your equipment and possibly make a donation in your company’s name. Upgrade: Adding memory can certainly be an inexpensive way to increase the speed of your systems. However new software and operating systems require more resources that can dramatically slow system speed. Technological advances are bringing dramatically higher processing speeds that render most systems obsolete in 3 years or less. Storage: Obviously this is a poor option. But surprisingly it’s the most commonly used solution. Many companies simply don’t know what to do with their old equipment. Studies show that about 45% of obsolete PC’s are currently being stored in valuable warehouse or office space. Most people know not to send them to landfills but lack a clear policy on electronic equipment disposal. Of course, storage is the most expensive option not only because of the cost of space but any value the equipment might have is declining every day. We can help you develop an electronics management system. Recycle: The fastest growing solution provides a cost effective process to protect the environment, minimize your liability and reclaim your valuable space. OC Management will pick up the equipment at your location and destroy data and sensitive components per your request. We reuse, refurbish and recycle components whenever possible. Metals and plastics are recovered and hazardous materials are disposed of properly. Often the value of recovered materials can help offset the cost of disposal. We offer a no obligation analysis and proposal based on your specific needs
