Big changes are happening at Coast Communications, and we want to make sure you know exactly what they mean for you!

We’ve officially eliminated data caps across the board.

Unlimited data is now standard with every Coast Communications internet package, no overage charges and no need to worry about how much data you’re using.

We’re also eliminating the additional unlimited data fee. If you were previously paying extra each month to add unlimited data to your plan, that charge will be removed beginning with your September billing cycle.

To be clear: some of our internet packages already had unlimited data built-in. If you’re on one of those plans, your rate will not decrease as part of this change.

And we’re not done yet. New speeds and new packages are coming soon.

We’ve been investing in our network so we can continue providing better service and value to the communities we call home. We appreciate you choosing Coast Communications and look forward to sharing what’s next!

When you choose Coast, you’re choosing a local company that’s invested in keeping our communities connected.

Think about everything connected to your home internet right now.

* Smart TVs
* Phones
* Laptops
* Tablets
* Gaming consoles
* Security cameras
* Smart doorbells
* Streaming devices
* Smart speakers
* Thermostats

Now imagine several of those devices being used at the same time.

A movie is streaming in the living room. Someone is on a video call. Kids are gaming online. Security cameras are constantly connected in the background.

It’s no surprise your network has a lot to manage.

If your connection starts to feel slower than it used to, it doesn’t always mean something is wrong. Your household may simply be asking more of your internet than it did a few years ago.

Not sure if your current internet plan fits the way you use your devices? Our local team is happy to help you find the right solution for your home.

Internet Myth: “Restarting your router doesn’t actually do anything.”

False.

Your router works hard around the clock, connecting every phone, TV, computer, gaming console, and smart device in your home. Over time, it can benefit from a fresh restart.
If your connection seems slower than usual or you’re having trouble getting online, try these simple steps:

• Unplug your router.
• Wait about 30 seconds.
• Plug it back in and allow 2–5 minutes for it to fully reconnect.

This quick reset can often resolve temporary connectivity issues without any additional troubleshooting.

If you’re still having problems after restarting your router, our team is always happy to help. Give us a call, and we’ll work with you to get you back online.

Regarding Flock-

In August of 2024, Coast Communications entered into an agreement with the G.H. County Sheriff’s office to allow them to place a license plate reader camera on our sign in an attempt to make Ocean Shores a safer city by helping to reduce crime and identify vehicles that were stolen or used for criminal activity. We allowed this under the premise that Coast Communications does not provide any internet services, power, or support for the operation of the camera and that the agreement can be withdrawn at any time; especially if our business is negatively impacted. Recently, some citizens of Ocean Shores have done just that by posting false claims, negative remarks and even asking to boycott our business through social media. Because of this we have asked the Sheriff’s department to remove or relocate the camera off of our property. We respect everyone’s right to privacy and our only intent was to make Ocean Shores a safer community. Thank you

We are working to call customers back asap today who are experiencing issues after last night's power outage. Please be patient as we have employees who have volunteered to come in while the office is closed today to help out. We do also have technicians out resolving as many issues as they can today. We appreciate your patience and kindness.

Why is my internet out if my power never went out?

This is a question we get quite often during storms and power outages.

Even if your home still has electricity, your internet service may be connected through network equipment (called a node or amplifier) that's located in an area where the power is out. If that equipment loses power, it can affect service for surrounding neighborhoods—even those that never lost electricity.

When the power comes back on, most equipment starts back up on its own. However, sometimes a fuse blows or a piece of equipment doesn't recover properly and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Our crews are on standby and ready to respond, but for everyone's safety, we have to wait until the PUD has restored power before we can access and repair affected equipment.

We know internet service is important, and we'll work as quickly as possible to get everyone back online. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
