Buying a preowned iPhone? Check two screens in Settings before you pay. We're showing them on an iPhone 13.

1. General, then About. Model number, storage capacity and carrier lock are all on one screen.
2. Battery, then Battery Health and Charging. Maximum Capacity is the number to read. 100% means the battery still holds what it did new.

Carrier lock tells you whether the phone is tied to one carrier. At our shop in Ocala, FL, you'll know which carrier it works with and whether it's unlocked before you buy. If something's wrong with the phone, bring it back and we'll help you.

Once we clean out an iPhone charging port here in Ocala, the charger seats tight again the way it should.

Watch what came out of it. This phone belongs to a man who runs a landscaping company, and grass and dirt were clogging the port, so nothing would connect right.

We don't charge for this, and it takes about 10 minutes. It's a common iPhone issue, so if your charger feels loose or won't connect, a dirty port could be why.

Here's Google Lens on a phone from our shop in Ocala, FL. Point the camera and it reads what it sees.

Hold it over a sign or a menu in another language and it translates right on screen. Snap a page of text and copy it into a note. Point it at a part or a pair of shoes and it finds where to buy it.

It works on the iPhone 16 Plus and the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE we have now. The Oakley Meta glasses are in too. Share this with whoever still types it all out by hand.
