No ... Amazon doesn't need to remote into your computer to help you!
Think about it, your Amazon account information exists on their servers so why would they need to get on your computer or access your bank account or credit card?
You should NEVER allow anyone who you don't know to remotely access your computer.
Hang up on any phone calls from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Apple, etc. who say they need to access your computer to "help you" fix an account issue, stop your viruses, check your system.
If you didn't initiate the call to their customer support it's a SCAM!
NEVER click on any link in an email that requires you to update / check your account. Type in the web address yourself on your browser, and login to your account.
If you have allowed remote access
1. Immediately shut down your computer and find an authorized repair person to check your system. Scammers can install software that allows remote access at any time to your computer.
2. Reset any passwords connected with websites they had you go to including your email.
3. If you have given out any personal or financial information - contact your bank, credit card company, etc. to report fraud.

Go with your gut - if it doesn't feel right hang-up and shutdown the computer.
Computer viruses are scary, and for years perpetrators of tech support scams have sought to exploit that fear by tricking victims into believing their computers are infected and they need help.
