β οΈπ¦ A Self-Spreading Computer Virus Has Infected Popular AI And Internet Software π¦ β οΈ
Cybersecurity researchers are tracking a dangerous new digital worm known as βMini Shai-Huludβ after it spread through trusted software downloads used by millions of people and companies online.
The malware reportedly hides inside normal software updates. Once installed, it can secretly steal passwords, cloud accounts, and private login credentials from developers and companies.
What makes this attack different is that it can also spread itself.
Researchers say the worm can use stolen accounts to infect even MORE software packages automatically, allowing the attack to move across the internet through trusted systems and updates.
Several major AI and web development tools have already been affected before the infected versions were discovered and removed.
Microsoft is now investigating parts of the attack after malicious code was reportedly found hidden inside a trusted AI software package.
Some reports claim the malware also included destructive code capable of wiping files from infected Linux systems.
Cybersecurity experts are calling this one of the first major self-replicating malware outbreaks linked to the modern AI software ecosystem.
