The ending of Cohort 1 of Greater Milwaukee Urban League AI Summer Camp (part 2 "Summer AI Adventures" with Nouvelle Tech).

Scholars presented their capstone projects and digital applications to an incredibly engaged audience, setting a new standard for what youth innovation can look like in Milwaukee.

Over four weeks, they discovered that artificial intelligence was never the destination. It was the tool. The true lesson was learning to ask better questions, solve meaningful problems, communicate with purpose, and build solutions that serve others.

This cohort represents the beginning of a generation of leaders who understand that innovation is most powerful when used in service of community.

Major shout outs to colleague and curriculum designer Brandon Jackson with Unorthodox Solutions. Big shout to GMUL and Dr. Eve M. Hall for this opportunity to engage with the innovators of tomorrow.

That's a wrap on our first cohort of Vibe Coding MKE.

Five days. A room full of young Milwaukee coders. And by Friday, real, working software built from the ground up.

Our campers walked in curious and walked out as builders. They learned to turn an idea into a functioning app, and more importantly, they aimed those skills at challenges they see in their own neighborhoods. Watching them cross the stage at our certification ceremony was a reminder of what's possible when you give young people the tools, the belief, and the room to create.

A special thank you to Mayor Cavalier Johnsoni for taking time out of his schedule to join us and personally recognize our campers. For these young coders to be celebrated by the Mayor of their city is a moment they will carry with them, and it speaks volumes about Milwaukee's belief in its youth.

None of this happens alone. Thank you to the families who trusted us with their young coders, to our guest speakers who poured wisdom and inspiration into the room, and to every partner who helped make this happen at ThriveOn King.
To our first cohort: you set the standard. This is only the beginning, and we cannot wait to see what you build next.

Tomorrow - Day 3 of Vibe Coding MKE is shaping up to be something special.

We're excited to welcome Sheena Driver, IT Director and Founder of Technology Support LLC, as our guest speaker tomorrow at 11:00 AM.

Sheena will spend time with our students discussing the power of problem-solving, how technology can be used to improve people's lives, and the real-world opportunities that exist for those willing to learn, build, and create.

Parents, family members, and supporters are welcome to join us and listen in on the session. We believe conversations like these can inspire the next generation of builders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.

Our team had the opportunity to provide event coverage for a housing and economic development roundtable hosted by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, bringing together Congressman Tony Wied, the Wisconsin Bankers Association, the Wisconsin Credit Union League, Bristol Morgan Bank, and other community leaders to discuss affordable housing, economic development, and investment opportunities across Wisconsin.
