Before we had smartphones to quietly text, "I'm ready to be picked up," we had the corner Payphone... and the famous "Collect Call." If you didn't have a dime (or later, a quarter) in your pocket, you had to get creative.

Who remembers calling home, waiting for the operator to say, "State your name after the tone," and speaking as fast as humanly possible:
🗣️ "Mom-practice-is-over-pick-me-up-now!"..and then hanging up so your parents didn't have to accept the charges? 😂

Do you find typing out text messages slow or frustrating? You aren't alone! The keys are incredibly small, and autocorrect can be so annoying.

The Fix: Let your voice do the work.
When your keyboard pops up on your screen, don't start typing. Instead, tap the little Microphone icon. Speak your message out loud, and your phone will instantly turn your voice into text.

It’s the perfect shortcut if:
✅ You have arthritis or shaky hands.
✅ You forgot your reading glasses in the other room. 👓
✅ You just want to send a quick, long reply without the hassle!

We hear this question all the time: "Will charging my phone all night ruin the battery?"
The answer is NO!

Modern smartphones are exactly that, smart! They know when they reach 100% and will automatically stop drawing power. You don't have to worry about overcharging your device while you sleep.

However, there are two golden rules for overnight charging:
1️⃣ Use the right equipment: Try to use the charger that came with your phone (or a trusted, name-brand cord), rather than cheap replacements.
2️⃣ Let it breathe: Never charge your phone under your pillow or on your mattress. Phones generate heat while charging, and blankets trap that heat, which can become a serious fire hazard! 🔥
The safest spot? Right on a hard, flat nightstand.

Today, if we make a typo on our computer or tablet, a little red line appears, we hit backspace and it's fixed in a second. No harm, no foul. But before the computer, we had the glorious, heavy, and unforgiving Typewriter.

You remember the sound: Clack, clack, clack... DING! (And the satisfying swoosh of the carriage return!)
But the absolute dread of typing a perfect letter, only to make a mistake on the very last line? You had to bring out the Wite-Out, blow on it to dry, and pray you lined the paper back up perfectly.

Spring weather is beautiful, but it can change in the blink of an eye. If you are planning to get out in the garden or run errands this weekend, your smartphone is the best tool you have to stay dry!

The Tech Tip: Open (or download) a Weather App on your phone.
Instead of just looking at the high temperature for the day, look for the Hourly Forecast. It will tell you exactly what time that afternoon rain is going to start, so you can plan your walk around it.

Many apps will even send an alert straight to your screen if a severe storm or high heat is headed your way!
