In April I sat down with Massimo and Shawn from The Angry Designer during Crop Conference in Austin. I think we had been out most of the night before but we are consummate professionals if nothing else and we kept it moving.
I been heckling these guys for years so it was great to sit down and have a nice candid conversation about design and life and all that sugar and spice.

Too many designers are stuck blaming AI, TikTok, and clients. Jason Craig says it’s time to shut up and make better work. In this brutally honest episode, we...

My first day working for myself full-time was July 15, 2019. I had a little head start on the pandemic that, while unfortunate, had some benefits. COVID made working from home less of a stigma, in-person meetings irrelevant and good work took the wheel back from company culture.

In that time, I have had the opportunity to work the way I’ve always wanted to. I continue to learn new things and I keep up with the advances of our times.

Six years have flown right by, and when I look back at the things I’ve accomplished for myself—not to spite others or to validate my worth—I am happy with what I’ve done.

I appreciate the overwhelming support that I continue to receive. Cheers!

OO-DE-LALLY, OO-DE-LALLY, GOLLY, WHAT A DAY.

I’m headed to Tulsa in April to speak at Art Directors Club of Tulsa! I’ll be sharing stories from my career—some old, some new—the kind that feel more like folklore the longer I stay at this.

If you’ve never heard of ADC Tulsa, it’s one of the longest-running creative clubs in the country. Since 1969, they’ve been keeping the creative spirit alive with talks, events, and real community. Volunteer-run. Weird. Awesome. I can’t wait.

I also designed the event poster—and we’ll be screen printing it live that night. Come hang, grab drinks and let’s have a time.

Today marks five years of working independently as a Senior Graphic Designer. I never aimed to work solo or for myself, but these past five years have been among the most rewarding of my career, which began way back in 1997.

I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with a diverse range of clients—from local and regional businesses to national brands, from small startups to giant corporations. I’ve maintained old relationships and welcomed many new ones. I’ve faced and overcome numerous challenges, including navigating through a global pandemic.

I’ve learned the importance of pivoting and adapting, even when things seem to be going well. I’ve come to accept that good is often better than perfect. I’ve also discovered that, even though I’m almost guaranteed to be the employee of the month, I still have to show up and earn it every day.

Most importantly, I’ve realized that the support and belief of the people and clients around me keep me motivated to continually improve my craft. These five years have flown by, and I feel like I’m just getting started. The best is yet to come.

Thank you all for taking this trip with me.

Augusta's baseball legacy traces back to 1884 with the inception of the Augusta Browns. Through various names and ownership shifts—from the Electricians and Tourists to the Tigers—the team's journey took a significant turn in 1954 with the signing of Leonard Hunt, its first African-American player.

In 2022, Minor League Baseball introduced "The Nine," a groundbreaking initiative spotlighting the invaluable contributions of Black baseball trailblazers. This platform aims to celebrate their historic significance, promote youth involvement in baseball and softball, enhance diversity in baseball operations, and engage millions of dedicated fans across MiLB's 120 communities nationwide.

Words can't express the pride and excitement I feel having crafted these uniforms. Keeping this project under wraps for over a year felt almost impossible. This Saturday, the Augusta GreenJackets will don these special uniforms, which will be auctioned off to benefit Paine College, an Augusta-based HBCU established in 1882—72 years before Leonard Hunt's impressive 29 extra base hits for the Rams.

Grateful for the opportunity, thank you to the Green Jackets, Braves and Minor League Baseball!
