🚨 **SCAM ALERT – Fake Amazon Refund Texts** 🚨
We’re seeing a **new phishing scam** circulating that looks like it’s from Amazon — and it’s convincing enough that a lot of people may fall for it.
📱 The message claims:
* You’re getting a **full refund**
* You **don’t need to return the item**
* You must act quickly before it “expires”
It even includes a link that appears legitimate.
⚠️ **Here’s the catch:**
The link is **NOT Amazon**.
It redirects through a **bit.ly link to a fake login page** designed to steal your Amazon credentials.
Once scammers get access, they can:
* Access saved payment methods
* Make purchases
* Potentially compromise linked bank accounts
❗ **Red flags to watch for:**
* Links that are NOT clearly **amazon.com**
* Urgent language (“expires in 3 days”)
* Messages about orders you don’t recognize
* Shortened links (bit.ly, tinyurl, etc.)
🛡️ **What to do instead:**
* NEVER click links in unexpected texts
* Go directly to **Amazon.com** yourself
* Check your orders inside your account
* Delete the message
📣 **Important:**
We received this message on a phone number **not even associated with an Amazon account**, which shows how widespread this scam is.
