The first two sessions of Graphic Design Club have been all about building a strong foundation and giving the students space to create. 🎨
We’ve talked about the fundamentals of logo design, brainstormed a name for the club, sketched original logo concepts, and learned how to build a simple logo digitally while adding our own creative touches.
One of my favorite moments ate seeing their creative process from start to finish.

The group also decided to use one student’s design as the official club logo, which I’ll be shhring soon! I’m excited to see how their creativity, skills, and confidence continue to grow.

I’m grateful to Next Step To Success for giving us the space to explore, learn, and create together. 💫

Lately, I’ve been realizing that building a career doesn’t always look like applying for jobs and waiting for someone to say yes.
For me, it’s also looked like taking on projects, volunteering, creating workshops, getting involved in the community, meeting new people, and being open to collaborations that help me grow.

None of those things replace applying for jobs, but they’ve helped me build experience, make connections, and come across opportunities I probably wouldn’t have found otherwise.
I’m learning that sometimes the next step doesn’t come from a job posting. Sometimes it comes from simply putting yourself in spaces where you can learn, contribute, and connect.

Got a teen who loves creating, designing, or coming up with big ideas?
Registration is now open for Creative Design Lab: Build Your Own Brand, a 4-week virtual graphic design series for teens ages 13–17!
Over four Sundays, participants will take an idea from concept to finished brand while learning the basics of branding, logo design, color, typography, and visual communication using Adobe Express.
By the end of the series, they'll have created their own:
✨ Mood board
✨ Logo
✨ Mini brand identity
✨ Final branded design

No previous graphic design experience is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to create!

⏰ 2:00–3:15 PM ET
💻 Virtual
💵 $50 for all 4 sessions

When I went back to school I didn't realize how much being recognized throughout my journey would mean to me. I've made the dean's list several times, two of my projects have been featured in the student gallery, and now I've been featured in the campus newsletter. I'm just getting started 🤾🏽‍♀️
