Project We Love: door hangers for our friends at Lighting Co.

Door hangers have one job: stay put on a doorknob and get noticed. That starts with the right stock. We printed these on a heavy cover sheet that holds its shape through handling and weather, so the night-sky photo and gold lettering still look sharp when a homeowner finds them.

The hanger itself comes from a die, the custom cutting tool that punches the hole and slit in one clean pass. We make dies for all kinds of personalized pieces: door hangers, custom envelopes, pocket folders, tags, and more.

Last week we showed you the custom care package we built for Enterprises. This week, here's the rest of the story.

Alongside the boxes came a full lineup of branded gear: embroidered backpacks, polos, and hats in three different styles. Then everything came together, got packed, wrapped, and stacked on a pallet ready to ship.

The best part came at the end, when we got this note from the client: "This stuff is INCREDIBLE." Those are the projects we love.

When Enterprises asked us to help build a thank-you package for their customers, we wanted the box to feel like an event before anyone even opened it.

The outside celebrates America's 250th anniversary. Lift the lid and you're at the ballpark: a stadium-lights interior, a "starting pitch" message to their team, logo baseballs, koozies, Cracker Jack, and an early-pay discount card with a QR code tucked right up front.

It's a promotional piece and a gift at the same time, and we loved every part of building it. More from this project next week.

A Project We Love: continuing our look at the Theodore Clement Steele art collection book. With pages trimmed and ready, they move to our Duplo collators to be assembled in the correct order. We run this job in four separate sets, then hand collate all four completed sets together before they head to the bindery for binding. A Project We Love: picking up where we left off on the Theodore Clement Steele art collection book. Once both the PDF proofs and the digital layout were confirmed correct, it was time to run the job on our 4-color offset press. These sheets are printed multi-up, meaning several book pages are laid out and printed together on a single large sheet, then trimmed down to size. From here, the trimmed sheets are ready for the next stage: collating them together in the correct page order for the bindery. Have a print project in mind? We wanted to share a project we've really enjoyed producing this past summer: an art collection book on Theodore Clement Steele, Indiana's master Impressionist. Before this headed to our 4-color offset press, we ran a digital proof on our Canon v900 — a reference copy that let us confirm the layout and page order matched the vision for the finished book. Rowland Printing has been part of Noblesville since 1972, operating through three generations of the same family. Through all that time, one thing hasn't changed: we care about doing right by the clients and the community we get to work with every day.

Speaking of history — the building we call home at 199 N 9th St has plenty of its own. The photo above shows what our corner of downtown looked like decades ago; it's the same building still standing today.
