Canyon Networks is a Newport, Maine based company that maintains relationships with clients globally. We have grown exponentially in the past few years, and we anticipate the trend to continue. We attribute our sustained growth to the daily contributions of the remarkable individuals who make up our team. We are currently looking for Installation and Data Cabling Technicians to grow with our business. Experience with data cabling or basic network knowledge is required. Our work is throughout the United States and the ability to travel on short notice is required. Most jobs are 5-10 days, but travel can be longer if the project requires it. We will consider applicants from anywhere in Maine if they are willing to travel to our Newport, ME office for required meetings, events, and project preparation.

Job Description

The Network Technician will be responsible for the installation, modification, testing, and servicing on all data communications network equipment and cable.

They will be responsible for Installing and troubleshooting communications hardware and cables for Canyon Network’s customers. The ideal applicant will have some knowledge of ACLs, routing protocols, Cisco router command set, VPN tunnels, router configurations, and switch configurations in order to provide first level troubleshooting.

Responsibilities and Duties

Pulling, routing, installing, terminating, testing and certifying structured cabling in new and existing commercial/industrial environments.
Installation of Network Hardware.
Installing support structures (ladders, racks, j-hooks)
Light construction work that may be required to facilitate cable routing.
Requirements:

Must pass background check.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work with a full range of motion while standing, sitting, kneeling and lying down.
Must be comfortable working from ladders and lifts (scissor and boom lifts).
Must be a team player with strong communication skills.
Must have valid driver’s license
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $20.00 /hour

Experience repairing computer and point of sale systems preferred, however the right candidate will be trained.
