Noetic Sea project has it's debut gig in that amazing venue... my back yard! It was a soft opening for this setup and we did five of Richard Cullen 's beautiful tunes with the two of us, Ableton Live and a bunch of instruments. 30 dear friends and family attended and seemed to really enjoy it. The signature cocktail of the night was the "Noetic Seabreeze". It was a ton of work getting this together and it was nice to be heard and seen. Could not have done it without Linda Perry Riera. Of course I recorded it and we have multiple video angles. I'll put together some sort of document of this auspicious occasion.

Did a rehearsal with the Noetic Sea project tonight. We're doing the duo thing with Ableton live, IEMs and all sorts of fun tech. Building up the tracks "before your eyes". It's really cool as long as the tech works. Here we are in "RockScience Theater" (aka the big room) just outside of the room where the album was mixed. First tune from this project drops to streaming services on June 3.

I've had this "real tube direct" DI for many years. IIRC, a studio client gave it to me. It's one of the things I occasionally consider selling, but then I read how much people like them. So I convince myself it's special and keep it.
I saw someone had posted pics of the inside of one, so I opened mine up. One big difference is that those two power resistors are soldered flush to the board and the board is baked black all around them. On the other guy's, there was an air gap. Also his didn't have the tube siliconed in like mine.
So... I either do a recapping, and replace those resistors, or dump it on reverb it as-is, or just forget about it for another 5 years.

I'm putting finishing touches on a project i am really excited about. Working with a very talented singer/songwriter I met while auditioning for a band a few months ago. I'm looking forward to getting these songs out and working on the next batch. Projects like this help me remember why I bother keeping all this gear around.

Play keyboards in a Reggae band! Friends! Money! Popularity! Seriously, we're looking to add keys. At a minimum, it's major and minor triads on the "off" beats on a piano-ish sound. Even that adds A LOT. At the max, it's that PLUS, varied and interesting synth textures and effects. (listen to Stick Figure, Algorithm, any other modern reggae) so it can be as interesting as you make it. The songs are simple but it's all about groove. Mixture of covers and original (great singer/songwriter in the band). There's a recording studio (mine) at hand. Is it you? Know anyone? Let me know. We're located between Newport RI and Attleboro MA. Rehearse 1x/week. No gigs yet - still putting it together. I've been onboard since Jan1.
