What if a map wasn't simply designed to tell you where to go?

For Archtober Newburgh, we collaborated with The Fullerton and Archtober Newburgh to design Look! Mira!, an architecture scavenger hunt and walking tour map highlighting architectural details throughout one of Newburgh's historic residential neighborhoods.

Rather than prescribing a fixed route, clues tied to streets and architectural features encourage participants to actively read and explore the city. The result is part map, part scavenger hunt, and part keepsake.

A full-page view from ARQUIVISTAS, created in collaboration with the Dorow Collection.

What makes this rutilated quartz sphere so striking is its dramatic split between transparency and a dense concentration of golden-brown inclusions. As light moves through it, the photograph captures an eclipse-like shadow.

On every page, the specimens look as though you could reach in and pick them up. Aquire your copy through our bookshop at artandanthropologypress.com

Our work has taken us across the country over the past 25 years. Art & Anthropology began in Denver in 2000, moved with us to Ithaca and Oahu, and evolved into Art & Anthropology Press in Newburgh, NY.

Each location expanded the experience we bring to our clients and led to collaborations we continue to build today.

Not every art book is designed for the same reader.

Our collection includes two distinct TASCHEN publications on Frida Kahlo, each offering a different reading and collecting experience. Both explore her paintings, photos, diary pages, and illustrated biography. One hardcover, 480 page version provides an accessible introduction to her life and work, while the clothbound XXL monograph (11.4 x 15.6 in., 624 pages) explores her paintings and photos with exceptional scale and detail.

"If you're after a wow-factor gift for the art lover in your life, this coffee table book will tick all of the boxes and then some (if the shelves are strong enough!)." - The Independent

"Here is your own Kahlo museum" - The Times

"Gives readers an insider view of one of art history's most iconic painters." - nymag.com
