Discover five main categories of Cyber Threat in 2023-2024 detected by Canadian Centre for Cyber Security. 🍁🔐

"The latest edition of the NCTA builds on the previous publications by presenting a clear and concise overview of the most significant cyber threats that Canada faces today and in the future."

The report highlights a number of emerging trends in the cyber threat landscape, including the rise in ransomware threats, increasing risk to critical infrastructure, and new, disruptive technologies. The report also highlights the growing concerns about the activity of state-sponsored cyber threat (such as cyber programs of China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea) and degrading trust through misinformation.

According to the report, in addition to COVID-19-related cyber threats such as phishing and business email compromise, cybercriminals are also targeting specific verticals and other emerging industries, such as healthcare, pharma and life sciences, food and beverage and technology.

As Diana Burley, a cybersecurity professor at George Washington University, said: “ COVID-19 become the perfect storm for cybercriminals to exploit the situation and do harm."
