Why leave available connections sitting idle?

Wave Relay® uses multiple Layer 3 internet gateways simultaneously, allowing cellular, SATCOM, Starlink, and other available transports to carry traffic at the same time.

The Wave Relay algorithm continuously evaluates every gateway and independently routes each data stream through the best-performing option. As conditions change, the network adapts automatically; with no manual switching or reconfiguration required.

This goes beyond simple failover. Instead of directing the entire network through one gateway, Wave Relay makes routing decisions for each individual stream, making better use of available connectivity to support speed and reliability.

For the warfighter, that means a network that adapts to the mission and keeps critical information moving.

From aircraft to open water, the network has to move with the team.

In the latest episode of Max Gain, we join SOAL Marine Group in Florida for maritime training featuring helocasting, water insertions, small-boat launch and recovery, and Kraka jet boards; all connected through the Wave Relay® MANET with MPU5s.

As operators move between aircraft, water, boats, and shore, the network adapts to keep voice, position, video, and data flowing. That connectivity extends beyond the team to support the broader operation and the decision-makers who need to know what’s happening.

How far can a network extend when every node becomes part of the infrastructure?

During testing in a subterranean environment, a Wave Relay® MANET extended across 38 hops over a distance of 31 miles; demonstrating the network’s ability to propagate connectivity through complex terrain and challenging RF conditions.

Even more important: Wave Relay® does not impose a defined hop limit. As additional nodes join the network, they dynamically extend coverage, enabling communications to reach deeper into denied or infrastructure-limited environments.

For the warfighter, this means greater operational flexibility; allowing teams to push farther into contested terrain while maintaining resilient communications for command, control, and situational awareness.

Interoperability starts with bringing teams together to train, share knowledge, and build trust.

AMERIPOL - Comunidad de Policías de América inaugural Red Águilas International Training in Colombia brought together 131 officials, 20 specialized teams, and delegations from 10 countries to strengthen cooperation among the region’s special operations units.

Through technical activities, shared best practices, and lessons learned, participants are strengthening the tactical, strategic, and operational capabilities needed to address transnational organized crime and regional security challenges.

At Persistent Systems, we recognize the importance of connecting operators across teams and borders. Initiatives like Red Águilas help build the relationships and coordination that effective joint operations depend on.

“I ain’t trying those wings, no way.”

Leroy Odems made one thing clear while helping plan the original Hot Wings Challenge: he was happy to help bring it together, but tasting the wings was out of the question.

This year, we gathered for the 3rd Annual Leroy Odems Hot Wings Challenge, continuing a tradition that keeps our friend and teammate’s memory (and his sense of humor) close. The wings brought the heat, and our team brought the laughter, encouragement, and a few questionable decisions about taking “just one more bite.”

At Persistent Systems, remembering Leroy means making time for the camaraderie he helped create. Three years in, we’re still sharing laughs in his name. And after trying those wings, a few more teammates probably agree with him.

Global partnerships begin with meaningful conversations.

Last week, Persistent Systems brought together representatives from more than 10 international delegations for a reception and panel discussion in New York City to mark the start of the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Week.

United States Ambassador to the United Nations for Management and Reform, Jeffrey Bartos, delivered opening remarks, and we welcomed F. Cartwright Weiland, Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), among our distinguished guests. The gathering offered an opportunity to connect across borders, exchange perspectives, and build relationships among international partners.

Effective counter-UAS operations depend on reliable connectivity between distributed sensors and the teams making decisions.

During XVIII Airborne Corps’ Scarlett Dragon 26-03 exercise at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Persistent Systems’ MPU5 radios and Wave Relay® MANET connected distributed sensors to company-level edge computing and command-and-control infrastructure.

Wave Relay supported 14 of the 26 unique sensors deployed, providing secure, wireless transport for local sensor data. That performance led to its expanded use as a battalion-level connection between sensors and command-and-control systems.

Conducted September 8–18, the exercise evaluated a modular, resilient counter-UAS architecture. For Persistent Systems, it demonstrated the role dependable networking plays in connecting sensors, supporting situational awareness, and delivering critical data to the warfighter.
