In the last few months, you might have heard that “AI-enhanced personalization”, hailed as the future of online shopping, was expected to revolutionize customer experiences. 67% of retailers stated that AI-driven personalization was a key opportunity for the year. However…

While AI has successfully enhanced product recommendations, only 43% of businesses delivered relevant experiences to consumers. According to several recent studies, this gap has led to 57% of consumers reporting that they encountered irrelevant or repetitive recommendations.

It seems that AI-enhanced personalization is another example of a technological promise that may be too complex to actually implement, on “moving trains” such as the eCommerce and retail industries.
