I failed my own mock interview.
37/100.
Not because I didn't know the answers.
Because of how I said them.
I ran a mock interview through an AI interviewer that reads your answers like a real interviewer does. Then it showed me the notes they never say out loud:
→ 0 numbers cited in the whole interview
→ "you know" said twice
→ Every story had an Action but no Result
Here's the part that hurt. Look at this answer:
"I think we kind of moved report generation to a background queue, and p95 went from 9s to 1.4s. Everyone was pretty happy."
Sounds fine, right? An interviewer writes down:
"I think we kind of" = hedge, and "we" = what did YOU do?
9s to 1.4s = real evidence (good)
"Everyone was pretty happy" = vague ending, no business result
Same answer. Completely different score once you can see what the interviewer sees.
So I built a tool that does this:
• Asks follow-ups like a real interviewer
• Counts filler words, hedges and "I" vs "we"
• Checks every story for STAR
• Quotes YOUR answers back, not generic advice
• Scores are mostly measured from your words, so the same answer gets the same score
First interview is free. Takes 10 minutes.
What's the one answer you always stumble on?
Tell me below and I'll tell you what the interviewer is probably writing down 👇
