So the D-day arrived for the decider cricket match between Green Guardians vs Yellow Hitters. With the previous weeks matches of football and badminton being won by both teams each, the cricket match victories were going to deciding over who will be crowned IDS SportsWeek’24 champions.
The first match was between the girls of both teams. Yellow Hitters opting to bat first posted a steep total for the Guardians to chase with Joyce, Deepali being the major run scorers and Vishakha (guardians) scalping crucial wickets. In reply, the Guardians started strongly with Ishwari and Ambika giving a stable start. However two quick wickets meant Hitters had the advantage. In came Mohini and Pooja too steer the Guardians to victory with Mohini with a woman of the match performance.
This was followed by the final and crucial Men’s match, with Yellow Hitters having to win it to tie the overall Championship and Guardians eying for a victory to clinch the title. Guardians opting to bat first posted a valuable score on the board with Deepak, Vishal & Narendra chipping in the runs. However in response for the Hitters, Mangesh & Shubham scored a valuable partnership to chase the total comfortably resulting in victory for the Hitters.
So even-stevens in the end the Sports week championship was shared and it concluded and wonderful week. The individual sportsweek awards given were as below
