Their recent life cycle assessment found that producing a Beyond Burger uses considerably less water, land, and non-renewable energy compared to a typical beef patty. This results in 10x lower greenhouse gas emissions overall. 🍔

There is also a complex network of routers and cables that transmit data to our devices, which consume more energy. This is in addition to the energy use of TVs, smartphones, computers, and other devices. 🧑‍💻

However, there are some advances - such as efficient hyperscale data centers and renewable energy integration - which are reducing the carbon footprint of data transmission. Consumers can also help by using Wi-Fi instead of cellular networks, or by reducing their streaming quality. 🛜

Carbon capture and storage (CSS) is a method of reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, a key driver of global warming. 🏞️

First, CO2 produced by power generation or industrial activity - such as hydrogen production, steel or cement making - is separated from other gases and captured. ⛏️

The CO2 is then compressed and transported to be injected into rock formations deep underground for permanent storage, where it no longer contributes to climate change. 🪨

All components of CCS are proven technologies that have been used commercially for decades, and large-scale CCS projects are being developed globally. In fact, there are approximately 395 projects in process, with 43 already in operation. 🗺️

💰 Community solar allows both renters and homeowners to access solar energy, meaning you can benefit from renewable energy and reduce your carbon footprint without panel installation costs.

🌞 The U.S. government defines community solar as any solar project which benefits multiple individuals, businesses, and other groups. These customers usually subscribe to a portion of the energy generated by this project, and in turn receive an electric bill credit for electricity generated by their share.

💡 Because almost half of households and businesses cannot install their own rooftop solar panels, community solar is a great way to access the benefits of solar energy, such as lower energy costs.
