Drake and Kendrick have officially ended their beef to acquire TappedX for $28 million.
We’ve had to keep this quiet for so long, and I am glad I can finally be so public about it.
Thank you to everyone who supported me on this crazy journey.
We built this from the ground up and today, we made history.
But lets be honest, TappedX hasn’t sold , and no we haven’t squashed any rap beefs to make it happen.
But while the headline was fake, what we’re building is very real and this moment felt like the perfect time to tell the story.
Exactly one year ago today, we pulled an April Fools prank saying our company got acquired and shut down by DDG for $28M.
It was supposed to be a joke but it unexpectedly blew up.
That prank led to us fundraising a small round, landing in meetings with some of the biggest companies in the world Spotify, Google, YouTube, Warner Music Group, Sony, Universal Music Group, and more.
Although we decided to not take funding from most of them, it allowed our team to get connected with so many people in the space.
It gave me the momentum to make the leap to move to New York City full-time where I’ve since thrown over 50 events for creators, founders, investors, community builders all across the city.
Now, we’re building TappedX, a platform that helps creators, founders, and brands easily discover and book venues to throw IRL events.
