Tennessee and Ohio now require their school districts to keep a detailed AI policy on file. Most other states have moved to at least some formal guidance. If your board still has this down as next year's project, the calendar has moved.

The hard part isn't one rule. It's that guidance comes from the Department of Education, your state legislature and your own counsel at once, and it keeps shifting.
