Introducing AI Breakdowns, a new series where we explain AI concepts in under a minute.

First up: how does an LLM actually work? The technology behind ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini explained.
Where it came from, how it gets trained, and where it shows up beyond chatbots.

If you or your child are curious about AI, check out our AI Builders program, where students learn how AI works and how to use it responsibly → thecodingspace.com/programs/ai-builders/

Kids are off school on October 12; we've got them covered.

Our one-day holiday camp celebrates Indigenous Peoples' Day from 9 AM to 3 PM at our Upper East Side location (201 East 83rd St). Students spend the morning coding, take on STEM challenges, and finish the afternoon on a tech pathway where they get to try something completely new.

Same energy as our summer and spring camps, just one day. A great option if your kid needs somewhere to be, or wants to spend a school day actually building something.

Spots are limited → link in bio to register: https://www.thecodingspace.com/experience-levels/school-holiday-mini-camps/

Your kid already uses AI every day. AI Builders teaches them how it actually works, and how to build with it.

In this weekly after-school program for grades 5–8, students train their own machine learning models, create AI-enhanced games, experiment with physical tools like micro:bit, and vibe code their own websites and apps. They also learn about data ethics and responsible AI use, because knowing how to use these tools well matters as much as knowing how to use them at all.

Fall 2026 classes are enrolling now at our Upper East Side, Park Slope, and Online locations → https://www.thecodingspace.com/programs/ai-builders/

If you're in Scarsdale and you've been curious about what we actually do, we have the answers!

Our fall classes in Scarsdale run through January.

Small groups, every experience level, and instructors trained to ask questions instead of just giving answers.

We built WoofJS because block-based coding and text-based coding shouldn't feel like two completely different worlds.

The platform runs real JavaScript (the same syntax, same logic, same language powering the web).

What's different is the scaffolding: WoofJS is structured to make the transition from visual programming feel like a natural next step rather than a reset.

Students who learn JavaScript through WoofJS aren't learning a simplified version they'll have to unlearn. They're learning the real thing in an environment designed to let them focus on the concepts instead of fighting the syntax.

Week 1 of fall classes, and students are already building projects.

Every semester starts the same way: a blank screen, a new project, and an instructor who's going to ask a lot of questions before they give a single answer. By the end of class, something's moving on that screen that wasn't there before.

This is what after-school coding looks like at The Coding Space.
Small groups, real projects, real progress.

Small groups, real projects, instructors who ask questions instead of giving answers.

Fall classes are open now at our UES, Park Slope, Port Washington, and Westchester locations and online!

Every time you load a page, your browser makes a round trip from your laptop to a DNS server, to a web server somewhere in the world, and back, in under 200 milliseconds.

This is the kind of thing TCS students start to understand once they build their first website. It stops feeling like magic and starts making sense.

Women hold 28-35% of computing jobs in the U.S. We started GirlCode because we think that number should be higher, and because the best time to change it is before a curious little girl decides tech isn't for her. 💙

GirlCode is the same TCS class your daughter would take in a co-ed setting, in a room that's just hers. Real projects, small classes, no lectures.
