Change management slows down when nobody trusts the configuration data.

Dependencies are documented. Relationships exist. Configuration records are available, but before approving a change, teams still investigate the impact manually.
Because the environment changed faster than the configuration data did.

That’s where cloud configuration management breaks down. Not in storing configuration. In keeping it operationally accurate over time.

Cloudaware continuously aligns cloud configuration records with live infrastructure, so teams can understand impact before the change, not after.

We break down what that requires 👇

Cloud costs jumped 20%. Engineering swears nothing changed.

That's where most cloud cost analysis breaks down — not in the tooling, but in the gap between billing data and operational reality. AWS Cost Explorer shows the number. It doesn't show which deployment caused it, which team owns the resource, or what the asset is actually for.

Most cost analysis tools stop at visibility. They give you the spike but not the story behind it.

Cloudaware connects every dollar to the CI in your CMDB — so when costs move, you can trace the change to a specific resource, its owner, the app that depends on it, and the team responsible for it.

We compared 10 cloud cost analysis tools on exactly that — and the differences are significant 👇

There's a difference between cost attribution that depends on tags — and one that survives without them.

Tag-dependent attribution works until it doesn't. Resources spin up without required fields. IaC templates miss the tagging step. Accounts get created outside the standard workflow. And by month-end, Finance is looking at 30% of spend with no owner attached.

Cloudaware closes that gap through CMDB relationships — tracing spend back to applications and owners through infrastructure context, not metadata fields that may or may not exist.

Anna will be at FinOps X in San Diego — June 8-11 — at the Cloudaware booth.
If cost attribution gaps keep showing up at month-end — come find Anna. She'll show you how it works in practice.

If your ITAM can't answer ""what breaks if this changes,"" it's not working.

It may track assets. It may store records. It may generate reports. But when it's time to make a decision, teams still have to piece things together — digging through Slack threads, outdated docs, and incomplete information just to understand the impact.

That's where most IT asset management fails. Not in tracking assets — but in making them usable when it matters.

Real asset management connects assets to ownership, dependencies, and impact so decisions don't rely on manual investigation.

Cloudaware builds that context by linking asset data to how infrastructure actually runs — keeping relationships, ownership, and dependencies aligned over time.

We break down how teams make impact visible before a change — not after 👇

Most FinOps programs don’t fail at visibility. They fail at follow-through.

Costs are analyzed. Recommendations are made. Optimizations are applied.

And then the loop breaks. No one checks if the change held. No one tracks if usage shifted again. No one feeds the result back into the next decision. So the same cost patterns come back.

That’s not a tooling problem. It’s a lifecycle problem.

Cloudaware helps keep that loop intact — connecting cost, ownership, and change over time.

We break down the principles behind it in the comments👇

Cloud cost data isn't the problem. Most teams have plenty of it.

The problem is when that data doesn't connect to ownership, allocation logic breaks down across clouds, and Finance keeps asking questions nobody can answer with confidence.

Kyle Burke will be at FinOps X in San Diego — June 8-11 — at the Cloudaware booth.

If you're running multi-cloud and struggling to get consistent allocation across AWS, Azure, and GCP — come find Kyle.
He'll show you how Cloudaware maps cost to apps and owners through the relationships between your resources — not through tags — so allocation works across without depending on a tagging program.

You define configuration once. And then spend the rest of the time verifying it.

Before a change, you check dependencies. During an incident, you question the data. After an update, you’re not sure what actually changed in production. Not because configuration isn’t defined. Because it’s no longer accurate.

That’s where configuration management breaks. Not in setting standards. In keeping them aligned with what's actually running.

Cloudaware continuously aligns configuration data with what’s actually running — so teams don’t operate on outdated assumptions.

We break down what it takes to make configuration management actually work 👇

There's a difference between a FinOps platform that works around missing tags — and one that eliminates the problem.

Most teams don't have a tagging problem. They have tag drift — standards slip, coverage breaks, and allocation quietly stops reflecting reality. Until Finance asks: who owns this cost?

And the answer depends on how clean your tags were. Most platforms work around that gap.

Cloudaware ties every cost line back to assets, services, and owners through infrastructure relationships — so allocation holds even when tags don't.

We wrote an honest comparison of CloudHealth and Cloudaware — two very different ways to solve the same problem.

Cloud cost visibility is solved. Cloud cost accountability isn't.

The data is there. Dashboards are live. Billing exports are complete. But when Finance asks who owns the spike and why it happened — the answers fall apart.

No clear ownership. No traceable allocation. No way to explain what changed without pulling data from three tools and two team members.

Jordan Spiers will be at FinOps X in San Diego — June 8-11 — at the Cloudaware booth.

If your cost data is solid but your cost reviews still end with "we'll follow up" — come find Jordan.

He'll walk you through how Cloudaware connects spend to ownership, allocation logic, and change history so cost questions get answers in the room.

ITAM isn’t about knowing what exists. It’s about controlling what changes.

Most teams have the first. They can list assets. Export inventories. Track configurations. But when something changes — the impact is unclear.

Dependencies aren’t visible. Ownership is fuzzy. Risk is guesswork. That’s not asset management. That’s a list.

A working strategy turns asset data into operational control.

Cloudaware keeps that control intact by continuously aligning asset data with what’s actually running — across cloud and on-prem.

We break down how that works in the comments 👇
