This was an EXTRA exciting appointment 🎉 and here’s why…

I FINALLY let her have highlights after waiting 8 LONG MONTHS! 😱

It’s not that I just like to be controlling 😉😂

This client was on a journey of growing out some dark permanent color and getting her hair back into a healthy state after bouncing back and forth from dark to light for years.

We had lots of conversations when she first came in about what caused the problems she was having, how we could prevent it in the future, what could be done to help now and how long she needed to wait and care for her hair health.

We kept her hair beautiful over those 8 months by doing rich color melts and healthy trims.

And ya know what? She said that this is her favorite look but that her second favorite look she’s ever had was the one we did while she was allowing her hair to heal!

Moral of the story?

✅ Not getting what you want right away doesn’t mean you can’t still love your hair.

✅ Heathy lightening is worth the wait… because otherwise those beautiful blonde ribbons would have been on the floor 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fading is not a super complicated thing...here's the basics:

💛 There's 2 main parts to a dye, the intermediate dye and the coupler

💜 The intermediate gives you the base or background in your color

💚 The coupler gives you the tone

The one that fades the fastest between the two is the tone....the coupler. It's easier to breakdown so guess what you're left with more of when color fades....the base.
