Standing on another world… and stopping at a boulder named for a daughter.

During Apollo 17 Moon Landing, astronauts Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt explored Ta**us Littrow and came across this massive fractured rock later nicknamed “Tracy’s Rock” after Cernan’s daughter.

Dave Scott is one of those astronauts whose contributions deserve even more recognition. From making history on Gemini 8 with the first successful docking in space, to helping prove the Lunar Module on Apollo 9, and then commanding Apollo 15, his career is nothing short of incredible.

He drove the first lunar rover farther than anyone had traveled on the Moon at the time and helped bring back priceless scientific discoveries that are still studied today.

His calm leadership, skill, and dedication helped push the Apollo program to new heights. A true pioneer whose legacy will inspire generations to come.

You've already survived every death you were supposed to have.
That's the claim behind quantum immortality. Every time something should kill you, reality branches. In one branch you're gone. In another you're not.

And your consciousness only ever rides the branch where you're still breathing.

So from the inside, you never experience the ending. The near-miss on the motorway, the illness that didn't take, the fall you walked away from.

All of them look like luck. They're not luck, they're selection bias at the cosmic scale.

There was something remarkable about how humble Neil Armstrong remained. 🌙

Even after becoming the first person to walk on the Moon, he never seemed comfortable with fame or the spotlight. He once described himself as a **“white-socks, pocket-protector, nerdy engineer.”**

Later in life, Armstrong stopped signing autographs after discovering that people were selling them for large profits online.

🚀 **The “SCE to AUX” Moment That Helped Save Apollo 12**

Alan Bean’s quick action during the Apollo 12 launch is one of the greatest examples of staying calm under extreme pressure.

Shortly after liftoff, the Saturn V was struck by lightning—not once, but twice. Suddenly, warning lights lit up, instruments began failing, and Mission Control was receiving confusing telemetry instead of useful data.

The crew had little idea what was happening.

Then Houston called: **“Try SCE to AUX.”**

The instruction came from flight controller John Aaron, who remembered a similar simulator problem. He knew that flipping one particular switch could potentially restore the spacecraft’s telemetry.

Pete Conrad initially had no idea what the phrase meant. It wasn’t a standard checklist instruction.

But Alan Bean knew where the switch was.

In a cockpit filled with alarms and confusion, Bean found it and moved it to **AUX**.

Almost immediately, the telemetry returned. Mission Control could once again see meaningful data and determine that the spacecraft was still functioning well enough to continue.

That single decision helped turn what could have become an early abort into a successful mission to the Moon. 🌕🚀

Alan Bean is remembered as a Moonwalker, engineer, and artist—but his actions on Apollo 12 also showed something else: **the ability to stay focused when everything around you is going wrong.**

“Steely-eyed” barely begins to describe it. 🔥
