AWS EC2 Create an AMI | use an AMI Instance | Restore an AWS EC2 Instance via AMI in 2023

In this tutorial video i firstly take you step by step through how to Create your own AWS EC2 AMI, before using the, before fixing the default AWS EC2 Public IP it provides by default with an Elastic IP address. You can also restore a AWS EC2 Instance using this method.


This video, although standalone, is also part three of a short 3 part video course, which is intended just to take you through the basic features available in amazons EC2 service. It will not cover advanced EC2 features like load balancing or auto scaling but is intended to provide a good grounding covering the main uses users face when first starting to use their EC2 service in anger.

The course uses where possible, free tier resources, so can be completed at almost no cost. I have also made a video showing how to sign up for these free tier resources.

In this tutorial video i firstly take you step by step through how to Create a new AWS EC2 Instance with simple web browser, so I can demonstrate Security Group and Elastic IPs, and common issues that can be solved using each.

How to Create an EC2 Instance in AWS in 2023

In this tutorial video i firstly take you step by step through how to Create a new AWS EC2 Instace using the AWS EC2 new instance dialog screens. I then demonstrate how you can connect from a windows PC by using the Putty GUI, and then show how you can connect from any operating system be it Mac OS, ChromeOS, linux or windows, by using their web connect feature.

How to sign up for the AWS free tier in 2023
In this tutorial video i firstly Explain what the AWS free tier is, what you get in the AWS free tier, before taking you screen by screen through the AWS Signup process. I then show you how to set a zero spend budget billing alert, so if AWS were to ever to charge you even a cent in the future, they would email you the very day it happened, allowing you to remove any no longer needed resources, so keeping future costs down.

I finally explain what is in the AWS short course i have produced, specifically for the EC2 resources most people will be using in AWS EC2 , while staying in this AWS free tier.

In this tutorial video i explain what is a VPS in pictures, and the VPS Terminology used by some VPS providers covering concepts like regions, availability zones, VPS Operating systems like linux or windows, VPS Memory, VPS CPUs, VPS Storage (HDD, SDD or NVMe) and VPS Networking. I then go on to talk about Load Balancers and Firewalls alongside how the VPS can be accessed by SSH aor RDP. i then go on to talk about the importance of VPS backups , both onsite and offsite and how they can be scheduled. Finally i talk about how yo normally pay for a VPS be it Pay as you go (PAYG), Monthly or Annually. I go on to explain that a VPS can be resized to match the demands placed on it before explaining the most typical uses for a VPS, like Web Hosting or as an Application Server.
