Keeping your home language alive matters. 🇧🇦

One of our new Flint Student Reps shared how they grew up speaking Bosnian but worried about losing it while living far from home.

So they turned to Flint: practicing jokes, grammar, and full conversations in Bosnian.

Now, when they visit Bosnia, they feel confident and connected again.

Language is identity. And we’re honored to help students keep theirs strong. 💛🔥

Jemel was a regular in the principal’s office. School didn’t always bring out his best: his energy and curiosity often looked like misbehavior.

But one teacher 🧑‍🏫 saw something different. His senior-year 🤖 robotics teacher, fresh from San Francisco’s startup boom 🌉, pulled him aside and told him to calibrate that zany attitude to software and research.

That moment changed everything. Instead of being “the troublemaker,” he became the creator 🛠️ , the problem-solver 💡, and the technologist 🧑‍💻.

Years later, after working in 🧬 biomarker discovery at Columbia University 🍎 and becoming a teacher himself 🧑‍🏫, Jemel realized his teacher was right: he belonged in the startup world.

Today, he’s helping schools embrace AI at Flint, giving educators tools to do exactly what his teacher once did for him: turn raw energy into creativity, learning, and growth 🚀

Jacob spent time with Nathan O’Grady, EdTech Implementation Mangager at Cognita Schools. Together, they talked about the role of AI in education, the launch of Cognita AI, and how Flint provides AI for both teachers and students!

Meet Carolyn Bogaski, Academic Dean at , who built the Florida Ecology Explorer 🌿 as her Flint 101 Capstone Project. From the Everglades 🐊 to coral reefs 🪸, mangrove forests 🌳 to watersheds 💧, her activity takes students on an interactive journey through some of the most unique ecosystems in North America.

This is what Flint 101 is all about: educators creating meaningful, classroom-ready projects while building their AI literacy 💡.

For his AI Literacy for Teachers capstone project, he built a game-changing DBQ activity 📜 using Flint—where students analyze docs, get real-time feedback 🔁, and level up their historical arguments 🏛️.
