🧱☀️This weekend’s Gotham Park Block Party was a blast! Gotham is gradually unlocking 9 acres of public space under the Brooklyn Bridge in Lower Manhattan, and this year the party spread out across the newly opened “big banks” area.

inCitu brought handmade public space ‘dreams’ by community members to life in augmented reality, and set up a station where park users could build ideas with blocks and scan them to life sized AR. Big thanks to the Gotham Team for coordinating such a great event this year and all the friends and community members who dropped by.

inCitu founder Dana Chermesh gave a talk at the American Planning Association's event highlighting our clients and partners and how they leverage the "last mile" of and data, bringing , , and transit conversations off the screen and onto the actual streets where they'll matter most 🤳

Six years in, we still believe the most critical thing we can do with Urban Development information is put it in the hands of the people most affected by the decisions being made, to let anyone be part of shaping their communities.

inCitu is heading to Detroit American Planning Association's !

Planning and AEC are having a 3D revolution, but whether 2D or 3D, plans weren't meant to sit on a shelf. Come learn how AR and immersive engagement solves the "last mile" of the Digital Twin, and brings crucial resilience, housing, and transit conversations outside, to real sites of change in the living city.

We're looking for planners who are trying to meet people where they are, build trust and transparency, and get the most out of 3D upgrades to support multi-stakeholder conversations and transformational engagement experiences.

🌻May 3rd - Join inCitu and Union Square Partnership for a special Jane's Walk featuring the physical (and augmented) work of artist Fitzhugh Karol!

Explore Union Square through the lens of the neighborhood’s multimedia public art installations. This guided walk will explore a range of site-specific artworks that bring surprise and delight into our everyday public spaces – from sculpture and asphalt murals to digital art experiences and augmented reality.

We will visit several temporary art installations in the district and discuss how artists respond to the unique character, history, and movement of Union Square. Participants of all ages and experiences will learn how public art is managed and experienced in a busy urban setting, and how technology like inCituAR is opening new possibilities for interacting with art in the public space.

Comfortable shoes and water are recommended🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍➡️

Seattle DDC is making the Walk Seattle's Future Tour available to groups on request. Grab your family, friends, and phones and join the Downtown Community Council for a 60-90 minute walk into the future using the magic of Augmented Reality (AR), powered by inCitu!

🤳See the LID I-5 project, Westlake Park improvements, and more come life right before your eyes. Discover AR art by downtown artists and creatives along an ADA accessible route. No AR experience or special equipment needed. Volunteer guides will be there to help every step of the way.

Walking around downtown Myrtle Beach today, you might not realize the walkable revolution already underway, scheduled to transform this urban hub near Main st. into a mixed-use hub for arts, culture and commerce.

This week, we launched inCitu's pilot with Myrtle Beach's Living Lab program, bringing one of the district's anchors to life in AR. The Broadway Theatre Renovation is a 17,000sf project transforming three historic 1950s storefronts into a new city venue in partnership with Coastal Carolina's Theatre department, which will have a new home in the 300sf space. Starting this weekend, you can check out the facade design from 811 Main st with inCitu.

Major downtown transformations can seem unimaginable at first, which is part of why seeing them at eye level, and experiencing them together with the actual beneficiaries before they happen can be so impactful.

This was our first visit to Myrtle Beach since joining the living lab program. Despite a rainy Friday, we could feel the energy and vision animating the downtown. The level of collaboration on display across downtown stakeholders would be the envy of many major cities, and we want to offer heartfelt thanks to Chief Innovation Officer Howard W. Waldie IV, MPA, Thaisha Roldan, Brian Schmitt, Erin Bowling, Tonya Gore and the MB ArtWalk team, Devin Parks, Troy Roehm at L3SP, the staff of The George, and the HTC Aspire Hub for your hospitality and collaboration!

📰🌆What happens when paper plans and procedures meet the future unfolding on the street? A whole new way to talk about cities. This weekend inCitu hit the streets of NYC to showcase how augmented reality can unlock new pathways for collaboration on bold ideas and complex proposals for the built environment.

🚶‍♀️‍➡️➡️We kicked it off with a data and technology themed Jane's Walk at Hudson yards supported by with special guests Helpful Places and zlvas;

🛹➡️Saturday the team headed to the Brooklyn Bridge for Gotham Park's annual block party, where we collaborated with The Urban Assembly Maker Academy and PS 150 to showcase student work using inCitu AR;

☔➡️On Sunday, we brought our umbrellas to support West Queens Community Land Trust with another Jane's Walk tour in Long Island City, discussing the implications of rezoning and community plans on coastal resilience, housing, and economic opportunity.

What did we learn?

Impactful participation is all about bringing things back to the human scale, at eye level. When urban ideas are visible in their natural place, anyone from a kindergartner to a professional planner can make an impact on a wide range of stakeholders. Most of all, when we work together, we can elevate the conversation, and build civic courage to look past the status quo to face this century's toughest urban challenges.

Thanks to all the event organizers, co-hosts, and co-exhibitors who helped us welcome "AR season" to NYC this year. Let's keep building the future together! 🏙️🍃
