The Federal Trade Commission has put new regulations in place that every designer, marketer, and brand needs to abide by to stay compliant. Otherwise, it may be fined or lose trust.

Here are a few updates:

“Most people make the mistake to think that great designs can be done on a single session but this is far from the truth. In order to achieve the desired results, you will need to work hand in hand with your designer at different stages. It’s not a one day thing but rather an evolving process where feedback is provided and different aspects of designs are worked on.

Creation of a mood board is the first thing one can describe in the process as it is the first step to gaining synergy across style and tone. Moving on, a black and white wireframe is then created as it portrays the basic structure and layout of the design. At this stage you cannot expect everything to be perfect because this is not the final stage. Instead, you need to focus on the bigger picture, which is whether the design moves in the direction of one’s mission, vision and what it stands for.

When it comes to choosing the colors for your brand, it shouldn’t only be about what looks appealing but rather the colors that blend well with your brand and can be used across all channels. This is as important as the means you use to convey what you stand for as it portrays the message you intend to deliver.
