Bambi The NEMT software you deserve.

Garage, two vehicles, an office in the dining room. That was California Accessible Transportation three and a half years ago.

Today: 17 drivers, 15 vehicles, 20 planned by year end. Carolynn Belke did the first year and a half with no loans and no leases, then made the leaps that scared her most, financing a real fleet and moving to software that could actually carry the volume.

Worth a watch if you are sitting on the same decision right now.

This is what NEMTAC looked like for us last year.

A lot of handshakes. A lot of smiles. A lot of fun conversations with NEMT experts who actually run this stuff every day, not just people who talk about it.
We're back. Booth 114... with a lot more shirts and a stupid number of fawns.

Come be in next year's video.

If you’re running AI driver scores, don’t skip this part.

Cho Ndiforchu at Skyline Transport FL says his drivers get dinged for rolling stop signs in empty parking lots. Nobody around, no safety issue, score drops anyway. “This is not a perfect technology yet.”

Somebody has to review the flag and decide it wasn’t a coachable moment before anybody gets coached. Otherwise your drivers stop believing any of it.

For everyone who’s been going back and forth on AI dashcams, this is the clearest answer I’ve heard.

Cho Ndiforchu at Skyline Transport: “It’s going to save you and you won’t even know it saves you.” You can’t count the wreck that didn’t happen, so the ROI never shows up clean on paper. His take is that once you’re growing, it’s imperative. Just pay it and stop auditing it.

If you’re still on the fence about cameras, this is the story.

Passenger slid down in her chair. She’d been loosening her own belt because she was uncomfortable. Family filed. Kunu Kaushal at SST Mobility says the video ended it in discovery, before it ever saw a courtroom.
Without the camera? He said, she said, and an attorney who knows you carry liability coverage.
“One claim can put you out of business.” Doesn’t matter if you run one van or a hundred.

Straight answer on the insurance question, from someone who’s been through it.
Kunu Kaushal at SST Mobility says most underwriters don’t really understand NEMT, so don’t go in expecting 5 or 10% off. What he has seen is underwriters willing to bid his account because dashcams and GPS dispatching show you’re not fly by night.

Where it actually paid: three incidents, all three subrogated 100% against the other party. His insurance never paid a dollar. One of those, the other guy’s carrier bought him a brand new van.

"It's leaving people blank on purpose and still scheduling them to show up to work."

Carolynn Belke grew California Accessible Transportation from a garage with two vehicles to 17 drivers and 15 vehicles in three and a half years, mostly on facility and hospital work rather than brokers. Hospital discharges are about 60% of her rides, which means she staffs for work that hasn't been booked yet.

"My business mantra is to always make data-driven decisions, and the data from Bambi have enabled me to do that."

That's Dr. James Ndone, owner of Comfort Transit LLC in Myrtle Beach, SC. James pulled his Bambi data into RStudio to check the health of his business and the numbers told him he was ready for a second van.

That's the whole point. Not more dashboards. Better decisions with Bambi

Congrats, James. 🦌

In December we gave away a free year of Bambi to a NEMT owner. Six months later, James Ndone owner of Comfort Transit LLC is buying a second van.

Here's what he sent us this week:
"My business mantra is to always make data-driven decisions, and the data from Bambi have enabled me to do that."

The dispatch board is what you see every day. The data underneath it is what tells you when you're actually ready to grow. Which trips carry their weight. Which payers pay. Where your capacity is going. All within Bambi.

Congrats on van number two James, the Bambi Herd is lucky to have you! 🦌

Part 3 of the AI dashcam series is live.

Erin Wakefield (Yellow Cab Medical Transport) installed Motive because her insurance carrier required it. Now she uses driver safety scores to decide who gets on the schedule. One driver sits at 55 and doesn't get shifts until he climbs.

Cho Ndiforchu (Skyline Transport FL) spent years on $60 SD-card cameras before switching. His take: the AI isn't valuable because it records, it's valuable because drivers behave when something is actively watching.

Both agree it isn't perfect. It'll flag a rolled stop in an empty parking lot, so you review before you coach.
