Venn Software Venn is the leader in workspace security for remote and contractor workforces.

Built on Venn's patented technology, Blue Borderโ„ข protects company data, applications, and AI workflows on any computer โ€“ without VDI and without fully managing the endpoint.

The traditional playbook for securing contractors and remote employees - shipping laptops and/or VDI - is proving hard to scale. What's the alternative?

The fact is, companies have become numb to these costly and inefficient ways of securing their remote teams. They accept the bottlenecks, ignore the high costs and proceed like its all normal. This doesn't have to be the way!

Blue Border was built to help companies move away from VDI by embracing the local processing power of their user's machines, while keeping data and apps secure.

Its the foundation of Blue Border ๐Ÿ’™

ATTN CIOs: Your endpoint strategy was built for a world that no longer exists.

Full-time employees. Company laptops. A perimeter IT could actually control. Now itโ€™s contractors, BYOD, offshore teams, and AI tools on every screen. Laptops, VDI, VPNs, and enterprise browsers each cover a piece of the problem. None of them cover all of it.

Our new eBook, The Endpoint Strategy Reset, covers:
- How remote work, contractors, and BYOD broke the old endpoint model
- What standing still really costs, from shadow AI to losing talent
- Where each legacy tool falls short.
- A device-agnostic model for any worker, any device, any app, any AI workflow

Time to throw out the old playbook. ๐Ÿ‘‡

2027 planning is underway, and CIOs are budgeting around one question: how do we stay flexible enough to adopt whatever comes next?

AI made that question urgent. Desktop AI apps like Claude and ChatGPT are becoming standard across the workforce. Add contractors and offshore teams, and IT now has to enable more people, on more devices, running more tools than ever. Its unsustainable.

Thatโ€™s why the shift away from managing endpoints is already happening. Shipping laptops and hosting apps in virtual desktops canโ€™t keep up.
The future of remote work security is device-agnostic, and the payoff is real:
โ†’ Lower cost
โ†’ Less complexity
โ†’ More agility
โ†’ A better user experience

Blue Border protects company data, applications, and AI workflows on any computer, without VDI and without fully managing the endpoint.

When William Worthington stepped in as CISO for a client in a heavily regulated industry, he found a familiar problem: lots of part-time staff and contractors working on their own laptops - and FINRA and SOC 2 obligations.

The usual answer would have been to buy and ship company devices to everyone or deploy a virtual desktop. Instead, he deployed Blue Border.

What he got:
- Faster deployment
- Lower cost
- Security controls and that are easy to demonstrate to auditors
- Visibility into company data and app usage, with a protected workspace keeping work isolated

In his words, Venn is what lets him โ€œsleep a little bit better at night.โ€

In 2026, VDI doesn't make you more secure - it just makes you more susceptible to risky workarounds and shadow IT...

With a workforce comprised of contractors and offshore teams - all using unmanaged devices - relying on hosting and virtualization to stay in control is a legacy approach to a modern challenge.

Zoom, Slack, Claude Cowork, Excel - they want to run these apps and expect them to feel natural - not bogged down by lag and latency.

That's why former Citrix VDI, AVD, and Omnissa Horizon customers are switching to Blue Border. They get the same control across any laptop (unmanaged, BYOD, third-party-managed) without the backend infrastructure, terrible user experience, and spiraling renewal costs.

We hear it every day, "Since moving from VDI to Blue Border, our IT team is just better." Rather than being bottlenecked with help desk tickets, maintaining infrastructure and putting out fires - IT can go back to being a true strategic partner to the business.

Why? Because they traded a complex hosting environment that users hate with a solution, like Blue Border, that secures data and apps locally on any laptop. No hosting, virtualization, lag or latency.

Apps are 100% performant, no network drops, and work feels... normal.

And, oh ya... at 40% less than their previous VDI investment

Sound to good to be true?

Your VDI renewal just landed. It's up 200โ€“300%.

That's what some large enterprises are reportedly being quoted right now. Even the "good" renewals are coming in 50% higher, sometimes with only 90 days' notice, and often with three-year terms and seat minimums attached.

The infrastructure underneath isn't any safer. Complaints to the European Commission cite VMware increases of 800% to 1,500%, and AT&T says it was quoted 1,050%.

Here's what never appears on the invoice: you're paying more every year to host the same desktops on the same laptops - and run apps that can already run on the device.

So the price isn't what's broken. The model is.

Blue Border takes a different approach. It creates a company-controlled secure enclave directly on the user's laptop (unmanaged, BYOD, third-party managed.) You get the same isolation as VDI, but apps run locally, and there's no back-end infrastructure.

If your renewal is coming up in the next 12 months, price the alternative before the quote arrives.

Your company just approved Claude Cowork. Your VDI just said no! Here's the problem nobody mentioned in the rollout plan...

Cowork doesn't run like a normal app. It spins up its own virtual machine on your computer to safely do agentic work. VDI is already a virtual machine.

So now you're asking for a VM inside a VM. Nested virtualization. Many VDI platforms don't support it, and where it's possible, it's usually off by default and a pain to turn on at scale.

The result? "Virtualization is not available." Cowork never starts. Your users go back to doing it the slow way, or quietly do it on a personal laptop instead. That's not an AI problem. It's an architecture problem.

Blue Border runs locally on any laptop without VDI. Claude Chat, Cowork, and Code run natively inside a secure enclave, enforcing tenant restrictions so users can't log into their personal accounts.

No VM inside a VM. No shadow AI. Just AI that works.

Thats the benefit of switching to Blue Border ๐Ÿ’™

"I didn't go the remote desktop route because I've had such terrible experiences with remote desktops."

Powerful words from a Founder & CEO rapidly scaling a global legal services outsourcing firm.

When your IT operations need to match the speed of your business, relying on VDI/DaaS and shipping laptops will only slow you down.

That's why Venn created Blue Border - giving organizations the power to enable their people to work on whatever device they want, while enforcing DLP and maintaining SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI, FINRA, GDPR and many more.

Your team wants Claude Cowork. Your VDI can't run it.

Here's why: Cowork operates inside its own small virtual machine. A virtual desktop is already a virtual machine, and most VDI setups won't run a VM inside a VM. So the app installs, but Cowork never starts.

And that's on top of everything VDI users already put up with: latency on video calls, input delay, the daily "is it me or the connection?" routine.

So what do they do? They don't wait. They open Claude on their personal laptop. They paste in the client doc "just this once." They find a workaround, because people always do.

That's how shadow AI starts. Not because people are reckless, but because the secure option made the job harder.

More restrictions won't fix it. A workspace where approved AI tools run natively, at full speed, with company data protected will.

That's Blue Border. Work runs locally inside a company-controlled secure enclave on any laptop (unmanaged, BYOD third-party managed), and IT controls which AI tools can touch company data, while sanctioned AI tools are enabled to run securely - without VDI or fully managing the endpoint.
