There are a few things you should do before you start the file transfer process, such as delete any unnecessary files, back up your remaining files just in case and run a virus scan so that you can be certain not to transfer any viruses while you are transferring files to your new computer.
You should also do a few things after you have completed your file transfer, including backing up your newly transferred files for safety and, if you plan to sell or dispose of your old PC, you will want to wipe that clean for safety as well.

In todays world, it is so important to employ safe browsing habits by using only secure browsers! Use strong passwords (Two-factor authentication can also help.); never click on links or open attachments from a source you do not recognize; and avoid tapping into unsecure Wi-Fi.
Hackers and scams are everywhere and they're only getting more effective!

Software updates are imperative, as they often include patches to any “holes” that cyber criminals can “crawl” through.
Simply opt for automatic updates to ensure that you are receiving software updates for your computer as soon as they become available.
This way you don’t have to lift a finger to ensure that you are not leaving yourself vulnerable to hackers or computer viruses.

Edward “Ed” Paulinski, 75, passed away on April 29, 2026, leaving behind a life of friendships and memories that touched many people throughout the New Smyrna Beach area.
Ed was widely known for his many years as a computer tech with Computer A Services. He built lasting friendships with many clients and friends alike. He will be remembered for his humor and willingness to help anyone who needed it.
Outside of work, Ed enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and the camaraderie that came with them. He was an enthusiastic trivia player who loved testing his knowledge and sharing laughs. Ed’s quick wit and love of facts always stood out. Ed could also do great justice to a Neil Diamond song if you were lucky enough to catch him at one of the local karaoke nights.
A lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears, Ed rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. Through every season, good or bad, he remained loyal and passionate, proudly supporting the Bears.
Ed will be remembered for his sense of humor and the many connections he made with people over the years. He leaves behind family members and friends who will miss his presence and cherish the memories they shared with him.
