I have read Labor Day is a day to reflect and to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America's strength, prosperity, and well-being. I for one am very grateful for all who have worked here at KBA, and those who have contributed to this community/state/country. While reflecting myself, I remembered a story about Christopher Wren who after the great fire of 1666 that leveled London, became world’s most famous architect, Christopher Wren, was commissioned to rebuild St Paul’s Cathedral.
One day he observed three bricklayers on a scaffold. He asked them the question, “What are you doing?” to which the bricklayer replied, “I’m a bricklayer. I’m working hard laying bricks to feed my family.” The second bricklayer, responded, “I’m a builder. I’m building a wall.” But the third brick layer, when asked the question, “What are you doing?” replied with a gleam in his eye, “I’m a cathedral builder. I’m building a great cathedral to The Almighty.”
I see myself as all three people depending on the day. How great is it that after a years time. Where some days we went to work just feed our family, we ended up building a cathedral for the Almighty. Don't we all benefit from such work? Thank you for your labor. Enjoy the Day.
