When we support the Jones Act, we not only commit to utilizing U.S. flagged vessels, but we commit to the thousands of American mariners who depend on the livable wages the Jones Act makes possible.

John has supported his family for over 4 decades because of our U.S. maritime industry. We believe it deserves to stay that way.

The Jones Act waiver has failed to deliver for American families - but it has benefited major oil companies.

While Big Oil turns to foreign-flagged vessels operating under lower standards, capable American mariners, vessel operators, and shipyards are left on the sidelines, while Americans still aren’t seeing meaningful relief at the pump.

The result? Higher profits for oil companies, fewer opportunities for American workers, and a weaker U.S. maritime industry.

It’s time to end this waiver, and put American jobs, American mariners, and our national security first.

The Trump administration has extended the Jones Act waiver again.

That means more than 240 days of a waiver that has failed to deliver the promised relief at the pump, while American mariners, vessel operators, and shipyards continue to pay the price of a failed experiment that was supposed to be temporary.

Foreign vessels operating under this waiver take jobs away from American mariners, all while avoiding paying U.S. taxes, and implementing U.S. ship standards.

OMSA urges the administration to end the waiver and recommit to our national security by putting American mariners and our domestic fleet back to work.
