Margery Somers Foster Center

Margery Somers Foster Center The MSF Center is a unit of Rutgers University Libraries dedicated to developing co-curricular initiatives on visual technology and networked culture.

The co-curricular programs promote expressive communication through the use of multimedia, while challenging Rutgers students to engage critically with structures of inequality grounded in alternative accounts of race, gender, class, sexuality, religion, and nationality. In pursuit of this mission, the MSF Center works toward the following goals:

- Develop students' multimedia skills;
- Expand st

udents' capacities to critically engage intersections of digital technology and politics of visuality;
- Serve as a hub for information dissemination and collaborative learning in socially transformative media; and
- Spark and support students' creative excellence with innitiatives, such as the annual Margery Somers Foster Undergraduate Multimedia Award.
