Q: Should I list prices on my service-business website?

A: Sometimes. You don’t need to publish an exact price for work that varies, but giving people a starting point or typical range can be helpful. It sets expectations, saves time, and filters out people who were never a fit.

If price depends on size, materials, access, or condition, explain that plainly. You could say, ‘Most projects start around…’ or ‘Typical projects fall between…’

Honesty builds trust.

The goal isn’t to quote every job online. It’s to help a good customer know whether it makes sense to call.

More website pages don’t automatically mean better results.

Every page should have a job:

• Explain an important service
• Answer a real customer question
• Build trust
• Help someone take the next step
• Support visibility in search

If a page doesn’t do any of those things, you may not need it.

A $500 website can be expensive if it wastes your time and never earns trust.

A $5,000 website can be a smart investment if it helps win profitable work for several years.

Instead of asking only, “What does a website cost?” ask:

What should it accomplish, what work is included, and who will be responsible for getting it done?

Q: Why does my website get traffic but no calls?

A: Traffic is nice, but calls pay the bills.

If people visit your website and leave, the problem usually isn’t a lack of traffic. It’s a lack of clarity/trust. A visitor should quickly understand what you do, where you work, why you’re a good choice, and what to do next.

If they have to hunt for those answers, they’ll usually go right back to Google.

I’d start by
- simplifying the top of the homepage
- making the phone number easy to find
- adding real proof from past customers

More traffic can help later... First, though- make the traffic you already have count.

Action → Open your website on your phone. Can a new customer understand what you offer in five seconds?

I’m grateful to share that the new Fredrick Media website is officially live!
