Rose Park Magnet Math & Science Middle School, 8th-grade students, created this artwork to advocate for clean air for Nashvillians as part of our plan. The students used Air-Ink, marker ink made from recaptured air pollution, for the symbolic illustration that contains an equivalent of carbon released during two hours of a running diesel engine.
Rose Park students are fully engaging their school community to spread awareness for cleaner air. Each day students raise a colored flag indicating the day's forecasted air quality. Meanwhile, they are advocating for no-idle zones in school pick-up areas, as well as making presentations to local community partners and the Metro Nashville Council on the importance of good air quality.
