In 2025 I made a list of automatic yeses and nos for my business. No exceptions. This was REALLY tough because I knew I was picking things that meant less business growth (which felt scary!) but also meant more margin for me and our family. ❤️ personal goals trumped my business goals.
I had my 3rd baby and wanted my motherhood experience to be staying home and being ALL in with my family, not my family life revolving around work. So I went from working 2 days a week down to 1 (and often 0 days as I took a long maternity leave).
Here’s what made the NO list (there’s only 3, and they were non-negotiable):
No traveling for work - I have LOVED work travel but it is hard on our family and didn’t fit in with pregnancy or the newborn phase.
No meetings unless absolutely necessary - I was cutting Zoom meetings to Loom videos or emails when possible.
No podcast guesting or summits unless it was something I really wanted to do (this one was especially hard because I LOVE guesting on other podcasts but the scheduling aspect of it didn’t work great with being a SAHM with 3 different kid’s schedules to work around).
And my plan resulted in a year I was so proud of. Dream home birth, a slower year, more space for personal growth and new ideas. I’m still living in Lite Mode here in 2026 actually. :)
Comment and tell me if you want me to build a guide/workbook on how you can create your own Lite Mode business. I’m thinking about creating something around this idea because I think more business owners could benefit from learning how to rev up AND slow down their business to fit into their personal life goals. No automation here, just genuinely want to know if this is something you’d want!
