Recently, we were asked to provide our recommendations for a Planet Fitness location in Everett WA that had 48 individual 55-inch TVs spread across three TV trusses. Over time, many of the displays developed a noticeable blue tint, creating an opportunity to rethink the overall viewing experience.
After reviewing the original design, our recommendation was simple: replace the 48 smaller displays with 24 commercial-grade Samsung 65-inch TVs, strategically spaced across the three trusses.
The result? A cleaner, more impactful visual experience that improved visibility throughout the club while remaining budget-conscious. Even more importantly, the larger displays perfectly complemented the facility’s recent equipment refresh. The combination of updated fitness equipment and a modernized digital experience gave members the feeling of walking into an entirely new gym.
This project reinforced an important lesson: effective AV design isn’t about the number of screens—it’s about selecting the right size, placement, and viewing strategy to maximize the member experience.
Sometimes less really is more.
