Here's a number worth thinking about. πŸ”’

Thirty seconds. That's how much faster your average transaction could be with the right checkout setup. It doesn't sound like much until you run the math.

Thirty seconds per transaction.
Fifty transactions a day.
Six days a week.

That's 90 minutes of recovered time every single week β€” time your staff gets back, time your customers spend somewhere other than a line, time that shows up as a better experience without a single extra dollar spent on marketing.

Now add two dollars to your average ticket through a well-placed upsell prompt. Multiply that across the same 50 daily transactions and you're looking at an extra $100 a day β€” $36,000 over the course of a year β€” from one small system adjustment. Did you follow all that??

None of these changes are dramatic on their own. Together they compound into something that looks a lot like a significantly more profitable business by December 31st.

At Value Systems, this is exactly how we think about building your system. Not one big fix β€” a series of small, intentional improvements that add up to something your competition won't be able to explain.

: Candy corn has been dividing America since 1880 and somehow it's still one of the best selling Halloween candies in the country. 🍬🌽

George Renninger, a candy maker at the W***y Wonka-esque Goelitz Candy Company in Philadelphia, invented candy corn in the with one very specific goal in mind. He wanted to recreate the look of an actual corn kernel in sugar form with three distinct colors, each representing a different part of the kernel.

At the time it was considered an engineering feat. Each piece had to be made by hand in three separate passes, with workers pouring different colored sugar mixtures into molds one layer at a time.

By the early 1900s candy corn had become one of the most recognized confections in America β€” long before it was associated with Halloween specifically. The Halloween connection came later, mostly because the harvest colors fit the season perfectly.

Today roughly 35 million pounds of candy corn are produced every single year. Love it or hate it, that's a remarkable run for a 140 year old candy that looks exactly the same as it did when George Renninger first poured sugar into a mold in Philadelphia.

At Value Systems, we appreciate anything that has stood the test of time by doing one thing exceptionally well. πŸ˜„

It's and here's a question worth asking before your first big holiday weekend arrives…

Does every single person on your floor know exactly what's happening tonight before the first customer walks in?

Which holiday specials are running. What's been 86'd from the menu. Which promotion is active and how to apply it. What the reservation book looks like and where the pressure points are going to be.

During the holiday season that pre-shift briefing isn't a nice to have - it's the difference between a team that operates like a unit and one that's constantly catching up.

At Value Systems, your pre-shift information lives in the system - not in a manager's head or a group text that half the team didn't read. Specials are already built in, promotions trigger automatically and reservation flow is visible on every screen. Your team walks onto the floor informed, aligned, and ready before the first order is placed.

The holiday rush rewards preparation. Make sure your team has everything they need before the night begins. πŸ”— ValueSystemsPOS.com

: When are you open on Thanksgiving? What about Christmas Eve? Are you closing early on New Year's Eve or staying open late? πŸ—“οΈ

If you don't have clear answers to those questions built into your system right now, your customers might find out the hard way, by showing up to a closed door.

Holiday hours feel like a small operational detail until they aren't. A family that drives across town for dinner on Christmas Eve and finds you closed without warning isn't just a missed table. It's a review, a story they tell, and a customer you may not get back.

At Value Systems, your holiday hours, special closures, and schedule changes get built into your system now and communicate automatically across every customer touchpoint. Your staff knows. Your system knows. Your customers know.

The holiday season is busy enough without preventable surprises. Let's get your schedule locked in before November arrives.

Six weeks from now, the holiday rush begins. ⏳Are you ready?

For some businesses on the Grand Strand that means their best revenue stretch of the entire year. For others it means six weeks of finding out exactly where their operation has weak spots - live, in front of customers, with no time to fix anything.

An outdated POS system doesn't just slow you down. It costs you in ways that rarely show up as a single line item. The transaction that took too long and made a customer reconsider coming back. The inventory that ran out because nobody got an alert in time. The report that took an hour to pull manually on a Sunday night that should have been in your inbox automatically.

Q4 doesn't forgive weak infrastructure. It just exposes it faster.

At Value Systems, the best time to have this conversation was September. The second best time is right now.

: The art of the window display was invented by a man who believed a store's front window was its most powerful sales tool and he was right. πŸͺŸβœ¨

In the 1890s, a Chicago retailer named L. Frank Baum β€” yes, the same man who would later write The Wizard of Oz became obsessed with the idea that a beautifully designed store window could stop a person mid-stride on a busy sidewalk and pull them through the door without a single word being spoken.

He was so convinced of this that he started a publication called The Show Window, dedicated entirely to the art and science of retail display. He traveled the country teaching merchants how to use lighting, color, and storytelling to turn a pane of glass into a revenue generator.

Department stores that adopted his ideas saw immediate jumps in foot traffic and sales. The ones that didn't were left wondering why the store down the street always seemed busier.

The principle hasn't changed in 130 years. The businesses that invest in the experience consistently outperform the ones that don't.

At Value Systems, we think about your checkout experience the same way Baum thought about that window. Every detail matters.

It's and let's talk about the 7:30 PM no-show. 🍽️

A reservation for four and nobody showed. Unfortunately your host is holding the table and the walk-in list is growing. Every minute that table sits empty is revenue that just walked out the door.

A smart reservation workflow handles that moment automatically. The table gets flagged, freed up, and handed to the next party in line - no phone calls, no guesswork, no manager intervention required.

At Value Systems, your floor keeps moving even when your guests don't show up.

: Halloween is three weeks away and if you're planning a promotion around it, the time to build it into your system is right now. πŸŽƒ

Here's how most businesses handle a holiday promotion. Someone decides a few days before that a costume discount or themed special would be a great idea. It gets communicated to the staff in a group text. Half of them remember to apply it and the other half don't. A customer who got the discount tells a friend who comes in the next day and doesn't get it. Now you have an inconsistency problem that's harder to fix than it would have been to set up properly in the first place.

At Value Systems, a Halloween promotion gets built directly into your system. The discount triggers automatically on the dates and times you set. Every terminal applies it the same way every single time and your staff doesn't have to remember a thing.

Consistent promotions build customer trust. Inconsistent ones quietly erode it.

Three weeks is plenty of time to do this right. Let's get it set up.
