Teachers and parents: you already run the best regulation lab in the building. 🏫

The beanbag corner that "just works."
The kid who does better after carrying the heavy book stack to the library.
The lights you keep half-off even though someone keeps flipping them on.
The "important errand" you invent the second you see someone starting to simmer. The same cleanup playlist, every single day, no substitutions.

None of that is in the curriculum. All of it is nervous system science, and you figured it out through observation, which is exactly how the best science starts.

What's the regulation trick you've discovered in your classroom or at home that no training ever taught you? Share with the community; your answers help other educators and parents more than any webinar.

Our next pilot is open, and we're looking specifically for the people Burble was built for: families raising neurodivergent or sensory-sensitive kids, and autistic adults.

Two weeks with Burble, free, from home. Use our regulation-first stories in the moments you already manage and tell us what you notice, using the framework we provide. We're keeping the cohort to 50 so we can genuinely listen to every participant.

Two practical notes: you'll need an iPhone or iPad, and spots go to applicants in our core community first.

If this is you, apply at www.burbleneuro.com (link in bio). If it's not you but you know exactly who it is, send it their way.

Parents of sensory-sensitive kids: what's your back-to-school game plan?

Ours (from the community, over the years):
The "practice walk" to the classroom before day one.
The identical-lunch-every-day rule for the first month.
The car playlist that never changes.
The five-minutes-early arrival so the hallway isn't a wall of noise.
The secret handshake before walking through the school gates.

These aren't quirks. They're regulation strategies, and the families who invented them are the real experts in this field. Drop yours below; another parent reading this needs it more than you know. 👇

A tantrum isn't defiance. A meltdown isn't manipulation. Most of the time, it's a nervous system that hasn't learned how to settle itself yet, and that's a skill, not a character trait.

Here's the part that doesn't get said enough: the way we handle those moments now is teaching kids what to do with big feelings for the rest of their lives. A meta-analysis of over 150 studies found that self-regulation skills built in early childhood predict better mental health, fewer struggles with anxiety and substance use, and more stable relationships decades later, into adulthood.

That doesn't mean every hard moment needs to be handled perfectly. It means the goal in the moment matters less than the pattern over time: are we helping a child's body find calm, or just managing the behavior until it stops?

Regulation-first parenting looks less like "stop crying" and more like "let's find calm together, then we'll talk about what happened." It's slower. It's not always convenient. But it's building something that outlasts the moment.

This is the whole reason Burble exists: to make regulation-first support accessible to families and classrooms every day, not just in theory.

What's one thing that helps your child (or you) find calm when things feel too big?

To every family who already knows the start of a new school year is going to be hard

The new classroom. The new teacher. The sensory environment your child hasn't had a chance to get used to yet.

The mornings that unravel before they begin. The afternoons that undo everything the school day held together.

You are not imagining it. It is not a parenting problem.

It is a regulation problem that has never had the infrastructure it deserves.

We have spent countless hours watching Burble work in real homes, real classrooms, real therapy settings. Families are telling us what changes. We are measuring what they are seeing.

We built this for you. We see you.

“I wish someone had caught this when I was a kid.”

That's one of the most common things adults say after being diagnosed with autism or ADHD later in life. Research backs it up: the median age of autism diagnosis in adults is around 23, but plenty of people are diagnosed well into their 30s, 40s, and beyond. On average, there's an 11-year gap between someone's first mental health evaluation and their eventual autism diagnosis. In the meantime, many are treated for anxiety or depression without anyone recognizing what was actually going on underneath.

Here's why that gap matters beyond the diagnosis itself. A meta-analysis of over 150 studies found that self-regulation skills built in early childhood predict lower rates of anxiety, depression, and substance use decades later, well into adulthood. Regulation isn't something kids outgrow the need for. It's something they carry forward, for better or worse.

This is a big part of why Burble starts with kids. Our goal isn't just to support the child in front of us today. It's to change what their adult nervous system has to work with tomorrow.

If you're one of the adults who got this later than you needed to, we see you.

What do you wish you'd understood about your own nervous system sooner?

Back-to-school is coming.

For many neurodivergent children, it's one of the hardest transitions of the year.
New classroom. New teacher. New sensory environment. New expectations, before the nervous system has had a chance to settle into any of it.

We're in a founding pilot with real families, real classrooms, real clinicians, watching what happens when regulation is addressed before behavior or learning is asked to follow.

We're building something for the families navigating a hard September.

If this is your child's story, follow along; this is being built for you.

There is a child in a therapy room right now.

They made progress last week. Real progress. The kind their therapist wrote down. The kind their parent cried about in the car on the way home.

Today they are starting over.

There is a child in a classroom right now.

They were fine on Friday. By Monday morning, something had shifted. Nobody knows what happened over the weekend. Nobody has the tools to meet them where they are.

There is a child at home right now.

The transition from school broke them open. The evening that was supposed to be restful isn't. The parent who has tried everything is trying again.

These are not edge cases. This is Tuesday.

The nervous system does not reset between environments. It carries everything forward.

What it needs is not another intervention. Not another tool that asks it to comply. It needs a layer that travels with it.

That is what we built. A regulation layer that moves with the child, from therapy to classroom to home, without asking them to start over every time the door closes behind them.

Every child in those rooms deserves an environment built for how their nervous system actually works.

That is why BurbleNeuro exists.

Transitions are hard.

Not because your child is being difficult. Because their nervous system is doing exactly what a nervous system does when asked to shift states without enough warning or enough support.

The research on this is consistent: abrupt state transitions are among the most dysregulating experiences for children with sensory processing differences.

This is not a character trait. It is not a parenting failure. It is biology.

Naming it does not fix it. But it changes the question, from "why is my child like this" to "what does my child's nervous system need right now?"

That second question is the one worth building for. And it is the one we are building from.
