It's quite scary setting up and running a small business. Not only do you have to deal with the larger more established organizations, but there are also a plethora of fellow small businesses selling the same thing as you.
How do you stand out?
Nowadays, anything can be copied so it can be hard (but not impossible) to stand out.
Traditional USPs such as low cost, free delivery etc. have lost their uniqueness.
But if there's one thing that can't be copied it's you - the business owner.
Nobody can copy the enthusiasm, values and passion you have for the business you're running. Therefore, it's important to get it across in all digital touchpoints and use it to connect with and build trust within your locality.
Once that relationship is established, those people become loyal to you and your brand. The word of mouth effect arising from that is obviously hugely beneficial at increasing brand awareness and sales.
And nobody can copy that. It's not something that can be bought on the shelf.
So, to any new business owner, I'd say get yourself out there, and become the face of the business!
