Doris Pichardo grew C&D Technologies’ Fusion Manage environment from 3 workspaces to roughly 40. Her advice at our Autodesk PLM Workshop in Bethlehem: map it out before you build it.

She started with three core workspaces: ECRs, ECNs, and deviations. Today it includes approval boards, custom dashboards, and Power BI-integrated KPI reporting.

How she keeps it under control:
- Builds new workspaces herself before bringing in scripting help
- Tests every change in a sandbox before it goes live
- Requires a formal request ticket for any workspace or user change
- Keeps step-by-step instructions for every workspace

Her takeaways: start small, don’t try to do it all yourself, and always test first.

Drew, former PLM lead at C&D before the Trojan merger, added the scale story. Cycle times dropped from 48 days to a few days, licenses grew to 325, and linked workspaces cut audit response from about a week to a day.
